Ok, first off, I am sorry I make so many threads here.
After seeing Aceana do it today I have decided to announce my 'brand name' for all my packs and a website, which I have been planning for a while.
The name is called 'Mania' and will go into the name of every pack.
The first pack is called 'Modular Mania', and the 'beta' test of the pack is up online for download at sebar.com/rctman.
Also do you remeber shelterz? These are being heavily updated and added to.
Note:For those wondering about my Shops Pack, that will be continued once Walking Snake releases his pack, that way I dont make duplicates.

I am not looking for requests, and so far have only Shelterz Mania and Shops Mania Planned

immeldude: thanks :up:

little update-no there are different angle covers:
Walls, 1, 2 and 3 covers.
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/8425/shot3hr1.jpg

If any one has any ideas for pieces then please post them

on the second pic it looks as if the covers 1 2 and 3 are not aligned to the rct3 squares but its just the angle of the picture, they are aligned

^nice!

maybe turning them upside down for a light bulb, and give it a gray alhpa texture for a glass effect. just a suggestion.... glad you figured out lights rctmaniac :)

The walls are a little strange, I think trying to make them work (integrate) with other scenery pieces (in the game or custom) would be interesting. I like the lights. Very interesting.

Cool work - on the shelterz though, you need to unweld your vertices so you don't get that diagonal shadow. It's the easiest thing to do in Milkshape and you'll get a nice clean color without that repeating shadow.

@Hotroddude: I turned it upside down, thanks for the help on Alphas, I will give it a go
@computertech82: The walls are the standard height and placement, so they can mix with other walls, but they are made for Shelterz pieces.
@JCat: So thats what it was! I knew I needed to do something, thanks, when I release the pack I will redo all objects.

Thanks for the replies and comments :up::up: It really motivates me on.
Here are some shots, the pack is about 75% done.
The new 'wall-joins'

The light (now upside down)

Note: I know the roof is not quite aligned on top of the walls
And at night... (nneds a bigger radius)

Enjoy..Please reply-it keeps me motivated

Well, you are making progress, but I think your scenery sets aren't good enough at this moment. I'm sure that ( if you practise modeling, texturing etc. ) you can make nice sets. Novix

I like it small. Looks a little bit like an "Osram".
And your walls have a nice RCT2 touch.

Great job.

@Novix: Well, everyone has their own opinion but if you dont like it then dont download it. BTW I wasnt very 'pleased' with that comment, you add up the hours I have worked on this set and on other projects such as Modularz or Shops, then you see I have spent a long time working. You dont make scenery in 2 days. Anyway, I hope this doesnt offend you and at the end of the day we all have our own opinion.
@immeldude: LOL, I have actually spent so long on this set so far, I have other items yet to be revealed yet, but I still have to do all the icons (I just use simple black icons while testing pieces.)
@Coastermaster: Osram?? Could you explain? The walls are basic, no special effects, just walls, now you say that I do see that mine and RCT2 are similar. I may release that light as it is and a one with a bigger radius.

Thanks for replying, update tonight as usual ;)

With Osram, I mean it looks a little bit like a normal bulb (I hope it is the right word). That was for your light.
And the walls looks simple, but nice. They have a touch of RCT2. ;-)

I think you need to make sure your walls are flush.

@Coastermaster: Oh right, cool, thanks!
@Phil: What exaactly do you mean by flush?

sorry for double post, but before I redo this whole set I am going to release a trial version of what I have so far, one of the lights doesnt work, but that will obviously be fixed when the full version comes out, so for now, enjoy the trial pack.
http://mania.thehostcity.com, it is there in the news updates. If you have problems with that site then go to http://sebar.com/rctman
Please download and report any bugs, or things that could be improved, or any comments on objects. I do this so that when I release the full set (in a week or so) there are no bugs or errors. There are no icons yet, I will finish all objects then do icons.

Updates
Well, unwelding vertices meant i discovered problems with some of the pieces, which have to be redone, and now the whole theme file for the importer needs to be redone with the new unwelded objects which will take a while, plus all those annoying icons which need to be done.
But enjoy the trial

Phil

Flush meaning they fit together better rather than the strange bits at the top you get from pics like..:

^Ok, but I quite like the way they go at the moment!
If you have downloaded and tested the trial then please post comments, bugs etc

The glass walls are beautiful - I can imagine this goes very well with animal viewing galleries inside the animal's area ;)

You know, if one goes back to the first screen and follows your progress on these they can see just how you've gotten better and better. I'll admit that I wasn't all the hep on the first items...although I was damn impressed that you joined the ranks of designers. But these last screenshots are really nice...there's a lot of things I can think to use them in, and I really like the different angles you came up with.

Very nice job! I'd give ya five stars for working hard and really coming a long ways. I look forward to what you come up next.

Well-here it is. Shelterz is released, check out my free website to get the download link:

http://mania.thehostcity.com

Or if for whatever reasons that gives you probs go to http://sebar.com/rctman

Thanks to sebar for the webspace.

@wabigbear, now I look at it, that first pic really does suck!! But I wanted to avoid the crys of 'No Pics'. I am glad you like them, this is by far the best set I have done, even if I do say so myself :p Thanks a lot. I dont actually know what is next really-I usually just suddenly get an idea and off I go!
@niccum_123: Thanks!
@Coastermaster: Thanks!

Any problems the email is on my site (I wont post it here due to spam-the link on my site is spam protected). Please post pics of what you manage to do with the set in this thread-I would love to see them in action!!!

Thanks, and enjoy

Very good set, rctmaniac; as others have mentioned, your progress is the most impressive part of this set. I have a comment to make, however; the light (edge) piece is problematic, I think, in that the light is positioned in the middle of the square, whereas the object itself is on the edge. Perhaps you would want to change that.

@Coastermaster: Thanks
@apet08: Thanks, and yes I forgot to test the lamps-so I have taken them out of the pack and have now updated shelterz to shelterzv1.1-Which you must download to replace the old one with the errors-Lightz may be involved in my next packs, providing I can fix this.
REMEMBER TO DELETE rctmaniac's shelterz mania FROM style/themed BEFORE INSTALLING V1.1.

rctmaniac...I can't seem to get thehostcity.com to work, so I tried your mirror at sebar's site. The zip file link didn't work, so I tried the .exe file. I had to change it's destination since my version does not use the (R) symbol, I installed it, checked to make sure it looked okay, but I got the dreaded "no sid" error when I wnt to try it.

I've double checked and it seems to be installed correctly - no extra folders. But I'd like to try it with the zip instead of the exe if you have a moment to fix the link sometime this weekend? Thanks!

@wabigbear-Yes-It is fixed now-the link @ sebar.com/rctman was wrong-I had missed out a letter!!
mania.thehostcity.com is working-do you get a page not found error or does it just not load? It does suffer downtime now and again-that may be the prob-I am in the process of finding another free host.

Great, glad its now working :up:. If any one downloading has any problems or need a different download link or a different file format such as .rar then just ask or PM me. I would like to say thanks to all that replied with kind words, and to all who voted 4 stars. Also thanks to all those who have helped me-and jonwil for the importer, JCat, LuckyGirl, DRP, for all their help-and others I may have forgotten. Thanks

What exactly can you make with this set? All I see are boxes with lights in them...
Has anyone built anything with this set yet?
