'Lo all. I just got back today from Cedar Point. Had a great time. While we were walking around the back of the park, near Thunder Canyon and Mean Streak, I noticed something quite peculiar. COnstruction seems to have begun on a new attraction, and by the looks of the supports, its gonna be another roller coaster. Supports hace been built on land and over water. Several western-themed signs have gone up, and one said "GET READY FOR SOME SIDEWINDIN'!" I wonder if that is a clue to the nature of the ride. I also noticed an enclosed area near the Breakers Express hotel full of red roller coaster track. I didn't have a camera with me, or I would have taken some pictures. Anyone else seen this? Anyone have any pictures?

EDIT - I found a website with tons of pictures. http://www.pointpics.com/miscellaneous/project2007.htm

Check out the 5 page thread further down the page that has been detailing this since early May.

i guess cedar point is trying to get back in track on its rollercoaster records since Kingda Ka took CP's tallest and fastest rollercoaster record.

Please don't keep this thread at the top. Just check the other thread that's pretty much right next to yours. I'm bewildered as to how you could have missed it.

No way! CP is building a ride? I haven't heard. I might have missed it when I was there.

^ vertical construction began a while ago, so technically, its like half up and half down... so we have a kinda limp coaster right now.. :)
