it isnt meant for MS, it was meant to measure things in game. I'm sure Vod could send you the .obj files if you needed them though

it is used to show the height of objects

Yeah, but I don't know how to use the program at all? In RCT and then?? Sorry, me lost...

The ruler is just a rct3 scenery object just like any other made and imported-no special program or anything

Hi Maniac - I think this is what I don't get (I am sorry if I drive you nuts by now).
I thought the idead of the ruler is, to help us getting things properly scaled in MS. However, if the ruler files can only be used in RCT, how is it supposed to help? I might as well take a reguler RCT wall, ect. to find out if my object is incorrectly sized - and try it again and again till I get the correct size.
Do I make sense? I suppose I got the whole thingy completly wrong...

dont worry you arent driving me nuts! The ruler had marks on it at certain heights in rct3-i agree a milkshake one would be good-but he only did it for rct3 purposes

oh, thanks... then I misunderstood the purpose ;)

Just to let you know.. Milkshape makes it easy to measure how tall things will be in game. Zoom in really far until the gridlines stop gettings smaller, and from there a 4x4 gridline represents one tile. A normal wall is 3 grid boxes tall.

Oh, great advice Walking Snake! I knew the size of a tile, but not the wall height.
Thank you!

The marks on the ruler are the same as the gridlines in MilkShape (more or less a few pixels). The point is so you can measuer how big an existing RCT3 object is in the game and then build from that data.

I'm working on stuff that align with tracks, so I measured the various track sections before beginning, saves a lot of time:

The large arrow is one gridline, the smaller is half. gets things accurate enough to know where I am...

Ooooh - now I get it ;)) (sometimes I can be slow... especially if the purpose in my head is a different one).
So it basically works the way I thought, just that RCT shows MS grids and not the other way round!
Thanks!
