Just a quick question... My version of MS is running out in a few days, and I'd rather not purchase the program because it is hard to use IMO. So, is there a better program that is easier to use, and is free for unlimited use? Because I don't like how there's no proper scale or snap in MS. I have the models made in Rhinoceros, and can import them into MS, but it's a pain in the butt to try and get them to be the right size in MS for RCT3...

I try to scale it in MS, but it doesn't scale to a snap. Here's the model that I currently have in Rhinoceros:

Now, the entire object is set to be a 1x1x1 tile, with the red grid lines representing a 1/3 tile height/width. Basically, I want to get this directly into MS or Anim8or, while maintaining the 1x1x1 size so I can import it into RCT3. Can anyone show me or give me a step-by-step guide to doing this? Sorry about all the questions, but I'm so used to Rhinoceros.;)

can you export the object as a .obj file in rhinceros? if so you could import -then figure out the alignment from there-trial and error

Yes, I believe you can. (although I don't know much about rhino, that's just what I've read) I personaly use Shade, it'll cost you $100, though, so don't go and buy it unless you're into 3d models for more than just RCT. Ex... I use it to create content for poser and vue, which I use to illustrate my novels.

Yes, I can export the model as an OBJ file, but Jonwil's importer needs to create an OVL from an ASE file. How do I convert the OBJ into ASE?

Get Biturn. It's a free program available online, and it's really useful.

Thanks for the link, I got Biturn and it works, so now I can get the ASE files. Now I'm running into another problem however. When I get to Step 2.2.15 on Jonwil's Importer, (http://www.iceatcs.co.uk/rct3/TutorialForUsingJonwilsRCT3ImporterProgramV111.htm) to save the OVL files, I get an error message that says "Cannot save due to missing information" even though I did everything step by step.:bulb:

Ok, on the right hand side you should have added all the textures you are using.
On the left hand side, you see the different meshes.
Leave the "root" one alone. Make sure you assign a texture to all the other meshes though.
Oh, and I personally write it down when I have seberal meshes, so that I can easily change the assigned texture, should it be the incorrect mesh.

well I did a huge guide on my site if you want to look, i wont post a link to keep to the rules :).
The best thing is to do it again from the beginning, dont try and check it, just do it again.
