I loved them!
Man The DB9 is one heavenly car.

Top Gear rocks! I've watched a ton of their episodes, I love them all. :D As for how much the Lotus runs for... you can get them slightly used for $35k - $45k in real life... I plan on buying mine preowned.

Top Gear is an awesome show. I can never wait until the end of the week to watch it. They went very close to my house before, on the one with the boat cars.:haha:
I could get to where James May got stuck by that bridge in about 10 minutes in a car.

The short guy? Tall guy? Other guy?
Being i worked for them i can answer your questions.
You've got many variations you can go for:
Lotus Elise
Lotus Elise 111S
Lotus Elise 111R
Lotus Elise Racer
Lotus Exige
Lotus Exige S
Lotus Exige Cup
Lotus Exige Cup 240R
Lotus Europa S
Those are just the new ones.
You can pick up a brand new one (Lotus Elise) at around £26k mark. As soon as you hit the £30k + range you've got the rest of the cars to pick from.
It depends on if they've got touring packs, if they've been raced on a track on track days. If you plan to get one, you best look around and get to know the history of that specific car. Also look at running costs.
You can still pick up the old Esprits/Europa's/Elan/Excel for example. Depends so much on your budget needs along with age. These cars are not for the faint of hearted.

Richard Hammond, the short one, or "Hamster" as it is known. It is on Sky One, and he also had his own show on ITV called The 5 O'Clock Show, which wasn't half as good as his other two shows. Top Gear is far better than Braniac, Braniac was far better than the 5 O'Clock Show. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either.

Aww... I don't get Top Gear here in Canada (at least I don't think). All I get is Fifth Gear - now I love that show. I gotta get up every Saturday at 7 am to watch it though, and for me that's tough since I always sleep till 2 pm :) .

From what I can tell by watching Top Gear... Hamster is one of the most popular people on British TV. He did a lot of extra work when he was saving up for his classic Dodge Charger. Anyone else see the episode where it was in the room with everyone? It looked sweet! I wish they had taken some more shots of it.

Fifth Gear is just a copy of Top Gear. Not too terribly bad... but they don't have Jeremy Clarkson.
I was thinking about this a few days ago. What does Top gear have that Fifth Gear doesn't? Fifth Gear does a bunch of wild and crazy antics. They slide cars in every show. They do unique and fun tests on cars, they have pretty much all the same components as Top Gear... except for one, JC. Like him or not... he pretty much makes Top Gear what it is. I don't know who's idea the character "The Stig" was... but he (she? it?) is probably another big reason for Top Gears success.

Fifth Gear missed one key element, humour. Also some of the tests on Top Gear are just mad, they are all brilliant though. Those across Europe are fantastic.

They try... it just doesn't go across very well.

Ok, so I just saw my first episode of Top Gear (Last episode of the season). Please ignore my last post, as I now love this show. It's amazingly funny. I liked how they can go from doing an informative segment on the Noble M15 to flipping that crappy little Suzuki van... I couldn't stop laughing. I'm getting more episodes as I type this. Thx so much WildKarrde for the FinalGear site...I owe you one ;) . BTW I still like Fifth Gear...

5h gear is ok heck any show that drives awsome cars and drives them to the limit and tells you what they think is a good show, american car shows are rubbish less your looking for a boring family car, and if doing that i will read up online.
top gear is great tho with the humor and the crazy stunts, love when they played soccer and hockey in those little mini cars, and the rocket ski jump car.
darn shame bbc is cracking down on the youtube and other sharing sites, so many countries dont get top gear, heck most of the my favorites list on youtube was top gear clips, and now they taking the clips off. wish discovery would pick up the darn series again, or heck why not speed channnel, would be a great fit for speed.

Sure, Speeds already got Fifth Gear, why not pick up a show thats already proven it's a hit in North America??

Seems like the general American public can only grasp Nascar and drag racing... based on that we havea loooooong way to go before America creates an interesting automotive show!
RIDES is way better than topgear
I've never seen "Rides" but I looked it up... best I can tell it doesn't even compare to Top Gear... it's not even in the same category. Top Gear reviews new, modern vehicles. Rides takes a look at one-off vehicles... that the owners would probably never put in the hands of The Stig to be test driven on a track.

I've got every epiosde of Top Gear, from season one, to season 8, all the specials, all the movies, and jeremy clarkson movies aswell
I Love it
Also, a tidbit of info:
Tiff (host of Fifth Gear) used to be a host on Top Gear (before the most recent 8 series). Top gear itself is an old show, going back to like, 1986 etc, so during some of those older seasons, Tiff was on there, then they brought it back with the new seasons with Jeremy, Richard, and James (in Season 2)
But Definitly Top Gear > Fifth Gear for sure

Top Gear is okay if you don't take them seriously. They really don't know what they're talking about half the time. They're extremely biased. And Clarkson is obnoxious a lot. And they really hate American cars. Other than that it's entertaining, but definitely not a good source of review.

They don't hate american cars, Did you see the viper one? Clarkson Loved it! I'm Canadian and i love american cars, but top gear just tells it like it is, american cars are good in a straight line, and little else

They like British cars above all else. You can't deny that. And British cars are good, but not beyond reproach. Same goes for any Ferrari.
