Hi guys,

I really need your help dude's, because I've got a very weird problem with using (not downloading) custom scenery. Well, I"ll come to the point:

My downloaded scenery sets like those of shyguy, vodhin and others DO WORK! ...Well, they work in the Scenario Creator...When I'm finished with creating my scenario and go back to the main menu --> play --> sandbox --> load --> the just created scenario, open the game and want to work with the custom objects the game freazes at the moment I press the scenery button in the build menu in the game.

It's so weird that the custom scenery works at the Scenario Creator but when really playing the game it doesn't!!... :(

Somebody has ideas?

Thanks for reading,

Greets, Jasper

Happened to me with Aceana's rocks. I uninstalled, then re-installed and all was ok...

Oke thanks, but did you un-and re-install the game or the scenery pack :)

Sorry - I should have been clearer. I uninstalled and re-installed the custom scenery pack, not the game.

Any new solutions maybe :(

Best to remove them all- then load all of say, shyguy's or JCat's, try em out... also it may be just one or two scenery pieces that's causing the crash- here's a trick:

set the game to run in windowed mode (not full screen) and more then not the error message about the bad piece will come forward to where you can click OK to clear the error.

Make notes of pieces that cause problems- there might be something we can fix...

Ok - let's cover the basics:

Are you fully patched up?
Are you using just RCT3?
Do you have Soaked or Wild installed?

@Vodhin: that's a good idea but it seems like every scenery pack is causing the crack, because not one pack's working :weird:

@Frogpole:
- I don't know if Im patched up...where can I patch up ? :P
- I use RCT 3 without Soaked or Wild. I'll have soaked next week

Thank you guys for helping :),

I used to have these problems too, but after a simple restart of my computer, it all worked fine :)
I gues RCT3 has to "load in" the sutom scenery or somthing, but In the 3 pc's I used to play rct3, I noticed the faster the pc, the less you get the error.

It's odd, i know, but still, I experienced it that way

Hey Frogpole, I downloaded the rct 3 updates, I thought you maybe meant that with patches ;) But during the update I noticed someting strange, because on a moment the computer gave a "Patch warning" saying that he couldn't find an old file and so he couldn't update that section....Could that be related to the fact that the scenery at the sandbox mode doesn't work?

Bafke: Yup, computers are strange things sometimes ;) But finally the problem will be found! :P Trouwens, tegen mij kun je gewoon Nederlands praten, alleen weet ik niet of dat hier is toegestaan ;)

Hey guys, it's working!!! Whhiehie! Finally..

I really don't know what did the trick but probably the update (thanks Frogpole ;) ). Maybe also restarting the com. but I did that more times and it didn't work then...

But I'm happy, finally I can play,

Thanks guys for reading and helping,

Greets,

Oh, as this is a weird problem thread - can I have a go too, please?
Just wondering if anybody knows a solution, as I need to set up the customer scenery again anyway.
I have a problem with roof textures (the greenish ones) in one of shyguys mainstreet set - the roof texture shows up ok in the wee window, but once I try to build the roof, the texture disappears and I basically end up with a green mesh in roof form - without any texture.
Any hint how to solve this would be appreciated. Reinstalling it did not work - and those green roofs are the only ones I have problems with, the rest works fine.

LuckyGirl...are you trying to use the mansard-style roof from MainStreetSet #1? Those are actually made up of TWO pieces...one is the plain roof with the texture of the shingles. The other is a almost identical piece that is the trim for the roof...it looks like it should have the shingle texture but it doesn't. The pieces that illustrate this the best are the two for the tall tower roof...the TRIM piece has a lip at the top and the bottom, the BASE piece does not, but has the texture of the shingles.

I hope that's your problem!

Wagibear - that would explain why the trim ones work and the other's don't  So, I have to use the two on the same tile?
