^ Who cares and who say's the most thrilling? Every park slaps that title on their coasters to attrack the public.

^ Like I said, they always say that, or they are paid to.

Take Paul Rueben. He say's every new coaster is "The Most Thrilling!" or "The Best!"

It's because he gets paid big time.

I honestly think G-Force at drayton manor with only a hip restrain on the upside down chainlift it's only short but one of the best rides i've been on or maybe Dragon khan at portaventura but then i've never been on any rides in the usa so i honestly can't really say at the moment :(
G-force video at drayton manor (http://www.draytonmanor.co.uk/GForce.aspx)

Because after getting caught ****ing in a movie theatre, you need to get money from somewhere.

Isn't it just a matter of opinion?

I'm still stuck trying to work at the correlation between the thread title and opening post. When I work it out, I'll give a real answer.

Isn't it just a matter of opinion?

Yes. Tallest, fastest, steepest drop, most inversions, etc are concrete things that can be claimed by different coasters, but best, most thrillling, etc are all subjective.

Isn't it just a matter of opinion?

Yes it is. Its all about what you think is a good coaster and what you think is a good coaster, I mean I think Millennium Force is the most thrilling coaster in the world but a lot of other people think differently, if someone thinks Kingda Ka is the most thrilling coaster in the world than they can, you can vote on the most thrilling coaster in the world but there is always going to be some arguing and debating on what it is you can never get a straight answer, it is all based upon opinions, almost everyone likes something different in their favorite coasters like maybe somebody likes to have head choppers during the ride and maybe some other people like steep drops, extreme acceleration or speed, its whatever makes you have fun on a coaster.

What peeves me is that these parks snag the record by, say, 8 feet and 8 miles per hour.

What happens?

In 1989 Cedar Point builds Magnum XL-200 - the first 200 footer. Other parks follow suit and built theirs slightly taller for the publicity.

In 2000, Cedar Point opens Millennium Force in May. The first roller coaster 300 feet+, previously unheard of. (That's 100 feet more than other roller coasters of the time)

Months later, at Nagashima Spa Land, Steel Dragon 2000 opens which is only a couple feet taller than MF and a couple miles per hour faster. My personal opinion is that it's crap - it's nothing but hills, no overbanked turns or cool "tricks." You can tell it was built for the sole purpose of record-stealing.

So, what does Cedar Point do next? In 2003, they take the cake by another 100 feet, opening Top Thrill Dragster at 420 feet.

And in 2005, Six Flags, in a pathetic attempt to snag the record, builds Kingda Ka - an almost exact clone of Top Thrill Dragster, only a second hill was added so people couldn't say it was exactly the same. Snags the record by only a few feet and a few miles per hour.

Hm, I wonder if the pattern will hold true - could Cedar Point host the world's first 500 footer sometime in the future?

^ Actually, KK is 36 or 38 feet taller, depending on who you talk to.

With that said, I still think SF made a big mistake building KK. Just think what they could have done with that 25-30 million dollars. I guess that's just one of the many reasons why there's new management.;)

Both KK and Millenium Force are record breaking coasters, but which one is the king, which one is more thrilling.I'm pretty much just interested in peoples opinions on this subject, and the subject of the most thrilling coaster.

KK should have never been built.. it's a lame way to beat out Cedar Point...

as for "most thrilling".. here's my top list:

Steel:

1. Millenium Force
2. Batwing @ Six Flags America
3. Titan @ Six Flags Texas
4. Phantom's Revenge

Wooden:

1. Beast
2. SoB
3. Thunderbolt

Ya,i don't think KK is deserving of a record, you want a record breaking coaster build a 456 foot tall,10,000 foot long airtime machine, not some 30 second launch coaster. With that said I just wanna say that i don't hate KK,I just think there are better coasters out there.

Top Thrill Dragster is the most thrilling ride I have ever been on, in my opinion. But theres a different from being thrilling and being a great coaster, like TTD is the most thrilling coaster I have ever been on but Millennium Force is the best coaster I have ever been on. There are a lot of rides that are thrilling like I think the wildmouse rides are kind of thrilling but no way arte they in my top 20 rides...
