Vehicle: Volkswagen R32 with Stage 3 Tune Kit
Transmission Mode: Manual
Severity of Bug: Moderate

Description: 5th gear is shorter than 4th gear, i.e. shifting up into 5th gear causes the engine rpm as indicated by the tachometer to increase slightly rather than decrease as should be the case when upshifting into a higher gear.

This glitch hampers my ability to get the car up to top speed...

D'oh. I should have test driven this car more thoroughly before I dropped $37K on it and another $20K immediately after at the Euro tuner down the street.

:bulb:

Need to file a warranty claim on my vee-dub. :)

Yeah I thought it was strange that forth gear was so incredible slow then 5th gear was so fast until I realized they were the same  . I think it makes the car slower in general and may want to be looked into. Most likly a quick fix for devs.

Thats messed, maybe thats why it has no top end. Also BS on launching the R32, its 4 wheel drive, it should fly off the line, this thing is slower off the line then a saturn sky.

I wouldn't say ~ 150 is no top end for what is essentially a modified Golf but yeah, the 4th/5th gear glitch hurts getting up to top speed quickly. :)

I agree, I think the stock R32 should launch better than a Sky but the Sky is also a couple hundred lbs. lighter.

Doing Chronopack testing with no driving aids with a Stage 3 R32 vs. Stage 3 Sky, I can consistently get <6s 0-60. This is not possible with the Sky, ~ mid 6 is all I can get.

The sky was just for example, my beef is the 4wd in the game in general, they peel out like RWD vehicles off the line and its BS, the Skyline does the same thing and its an insult to one of the best perks of having a 4wd, to launch off the line.

A stock R32 can get a 5.9 0-60.

I have found the skyline launches very good off the line. I usally start in 2nd gear and it does a quick burn out and is quickly up to speed.
