I remembered trying Bryce 5 a couple of years ago and loved it, but I read that Bryce 5 is not able to export well for RCT.
Any idea how that is about the new version Bryce 5.5?

I have no idea. The importer needs ase files, if you can get a converter chain that leads from something bryce can export to this format without mangeling the data it should work.

I know Bryce exports 3DS so you could try using Biturn to convert to ASE. I have never tried using Bryce for rct3 scenery so I cant say for sure if it will work. If it still doesn’t work you could always try using milk shape. Export the 3DS from Bryce to milk shape and then go from milk shape to Biturn to convert to ASE.

What I don't know a lot yet about is:
Does the texture always have to be assigned via the RCT importer,
or can I save the texture already with Bryce?
I ask this because I love the textures and their possibilities in Bryce and it would be just great to bring the texture into the game exactly like it is when I assign it in Bryce.
And not those UV maps... or do I always have to draw the texture into those maps myself?

Do you know if yo can export a texture from Bryce if you can then it probably would work. If it can let me know what format it is in.

Unfortunately you can't export in the trial version, and in the user manual it's not explained what format you export.
I know though that *some* of the Bryce textures/materials have the format .mat - no idea about exporting though :(
