I would suggest trying SketchUp (http://www.sketchup.com/). It's very easy to learn, and is also easy to use. :D

No problem! At first I thought it would be tough to use, but it kinda grows on you after a few tutorials. Have fun! :D

Talk about a repeat thread.
Anyways, this is great, more custom scenery makers, this is what I like to see, the best one is Milkshape.
It is worth the $25 and is great even if you get the 30 Day trial like me!!!:D
Whatever you're comfortable with. I still would never reccomend jumping into game scenery/models when you've never touched anything like this before.

That's why I don't make custom scenery.

The one with the steepest learning curve but with the most capability is blender. Google it for a free dl. Look on wikipedia for an awesome, long tutorial about it. Hey, whatever draws your 3D model :P

No need to google, just have a look at my software page (link in signature, or use the direct links) :)

heres a question ive asked but gotten different replies. Can you use GOOGLE sketchup? Or do you have to spend the money on Sketchup Pro 5? Cause i dont wanna spend that kinda money, but i do wanna make custom scenery.

You can, but it is not easy to convert the files, afaik there are two ways. One way leads over the Sketchup pro trial. For the other you will need to get at least a bit accustomed to blender and learn uv-mapping in it. For the latter way see my software page.

That's two distinct questions.
- Uv-Mapping is the process of assigning a texture to you model. I use "assigning" for lack of a better word. It's more 'telling' the model from where in the texture bitmap to take the texture for a face. There is an excellent video tutorial about it on the Blender home page.
- To go form Sketup to Blender, export as Google Earth (not GE 4) and import into Blender using the import script on my page. You probably need to clean up the model then as Sketchup tends to export a few things you don't expect.
