In my attempt to learn how to make custom billboards, I thought it would be a good exercise to make a couple billboards that I've seen requested time and time again, so:

^ That's a 1x3 billboard (finally center up a sign over your entrance!) with no collision detection and a 1x1 floor billboard (obviously without collision either).

I have a few minor things I'm trying to take care of still (wrong placement on the 1x3 and they're not recolorable yet). I figured I'll throw in collision-free 1x1 and 1x2 billboards also. I haven't yet lined them up end to end to see if they appear seamless

Oh, I thought ShyGuy WASN'T doing floor billboards (?). Ack, I don't want to take away from his brilliant stuff!

In my opinion it doesn't matter who makes them, they would just be a great addition in custom scenery. Both your and shyguys stuff are pretty, you just got to it first, that's all. :)

I believe he already has the model made, though you are the first to adress simple issues like frameless 1*1, 2*2, 1*3, etc. w/out collision detection. I think even if shyguy releases one too, keep the floor piece as well.

I would like to ask, though, would you consider making a backdrop billboard? Seamless 5*5 or something huge like that. It would make enclosed rides a lot easier, as well as open up several new possiblilities.

That looks great, Although I have no idea how billboards work, or I would make them for Crowheart like I promised, but I am still working on it....

I realy needed these! Awesome thanks for making them. They will definatley help me and many other people with their projects. BTW I love the Disney park you are creating, I am anxiously awaiting more of the Beauty and the Beast Attraction to be shown!

I really like the floor billboard. It's really going to come in handy for some people. :)

I just have one minor request. Could you possibly make a 2x3 billboard? I kind of need it for a park I'm making, and I'm sure other park builders would find it useful as well. It's okay if you don't, as I could just stack two 1x3 billboards. Just thought I'd ask, though.

wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Yes...I'm crying like a big baby...because you have made me sooo happy! How about a billboard ceiling too? You know what? Vodhin made that curved marquee billboard...I wonder how hard it would be to make a billboard tunnel...like a cylinder?

Anyway...keep up the great work Mikeyca!!!

I have made a floor/ceiling billboard for my Circus Center Set 2. I also have a floor billboard that contours to the terrain, and a full wall size billboard without collision detection. I was also planning a half/floor (triangular) billboard. I was planning on posting pics tomorrow in the official Circus Center thread. Should I keep them in or what???

I don't see anything wrong with two sources for these types of billboards. they will still more than likely be different from each other in some ways so I say keep them Shyguy. but thats just my opinion. it is up to mikeyca and shyguy to make this decision and not me. But you have my opinion.

Oh wow, DEFINITELY keep yours and I'll go ahead and abandon mine--I'm still toying around with settings to figure this stuff out. Your pieces are tried and true (and probably a lot more optimized than mine too).

Why not keep both sets?:D

That way we have a variety to choose from.:D

I think both sets would come in handy......we have a number of different sources for things like rocks, dark ride sets, and other things....it is nice to have choices......keep them both.

The difference between multiple sets of rocks, dark ride sets, etc. is that the various sets DO have some aesthetic differences to them, which make the various sets versatile enough to warrant having a variety.

Billboards, however, are just billboards. They all serve the same purpose and will only differ due to the image assigned by the player. Once the image has been assigned, there's nothing that distinguishes one billboard from another. ShyGuy's billboard set provides pretty much all the variations you would want or need to do just about anything you wanted.

Besides, like I mentioned, I'm still working out some issues with my own billboards--ShyGuy's are ready to go! :)

my only wish...is that we finally get some seamless (truly seamless...for making giant billboards out of...so the image should extend all the way to the edge), and collision-free. Of course...billboard doors that combine the wizardry of The Cook's new custom ride events with billboard versatility would be swell too LOL!!! ANd different shapes like tunnel tubes or spheres or cones would be amazings someday...

Can you imagine the possibilities???
