Hey all,

So, I've been thinking lately 'I should really finish that JP set soon because I've been holding It off for WAY too long!' So here we are again, A new thread, New Ideas, More advanced and bigger and better than ever before! (And with the new animated scenery function coming out soon I'll be able to realize the visions I had for this set when I first started CS....

Anyway, I've really gotta get started :D So I'll get a few objects In and try and post a few screens tonight.

First update -

I went back and completely remodelled the electric fences, These ones are only the base set of them, Yet to be modelled versions will Include flashing lights and 'Danger! 10,000 volts' warning signs.

Message to Vodhin or whoever - I'm still getting major X-ray effects on the electric cables, So If you have any tips so solve that, That would be great!

One thing though: on the straight fence you ahve those support thingies on the side for the cables. But you don't for the diagonal peices. I know for jsut making corners it works, but it wouldn't if we wanted longer diagonal fences.

ha ha is right... um how bout a a collection of jurassic park cars one regular and mabye one flipped over? and maybe a cooler and better raptor than the one that has the trees so u can put it indoors. and maybe.... some dead dinosaurs, like they have been eaten by a t-rex. and how bout a spinosaur!

How about dinosaur bones? Just single individual ones like arches, so that we can form our own ribcages and such. Like the ones around Corkscrew at Alton Towers (picture here (http://www.towerstimes.co.uk/rides/ugland/oldcork2.jpg)).

Some normal and diagonal ones would be useful for prehistoric themed areas.

how bout the wrecked bout off of JP River Ride? you know the one the Dilopasaurus (Spitter) is chewing on? Easter egg: did u know that there is a Mickey Mouse hat floating in the water next to the wrecked boat! Lol, take that Disney!

I'm trying to stay away from the ride as much as I can since that Is Guybrush's territory and I'd feel bad about taking over his project. This set will be entirely made up, nearly everything you will see in here will be inspired from the movie or the book (Just finished :D ), So almost nothing from IOA will be in this set.

And no, The hat Is not there anymore.

Don't use white as a font colour either. Lots of people use different forum themes on here, making it almost impossible to read without highlighting it. Can't you just stick to the default colour?

Anyway, I love those turnstiles Usf geek! I agree that a standard one wouldd be good too, as I doubt many people will be making a Jurassic Park themed ride or park to be able to use them...

It probably appears white on the theme you're using. But I'm using the default theme, so it appears black to me.

USF, great job on the turnstiles, the detail work is impressive. I second the though to make the logo optional so that this great piece sees more use. Keep up the good work!

Have you ever considered how the special olympians feel? I would challenge you (or anyone else) to get involved with your local chapter of special olympics. Ian Malcom couldn't survive because of the injuries on his leg from the rex. But then you figure out in the Lost World that he was alive they just told DR. Grant he wasn't. Then it branches off into Malcoms adventure.

Personally, I think he really was dead from JP, and the author just tried to find a workaround to bring him back. Haven't finished the sequels, so I don't know too much though.

That's not the "dude" we're talking about. You know John Hammond, the old guy in charge of the island? He dies in the first book. The movies are all wrong...

Also, the "dino chickens" are called Compsognathus (often shortened to Compy's). Seriously, nobody finds your constant talk about chickens funny, we just get really annoyed by it. I've even reported you on several occasions for spamming about chickens, obviosuly to no effect. :(

well in the movie he dies ( a rather noobish die if i say so myself ) from a velociraptor.

For those of u who dont know how he died in the movie...hes in the jungle and he finds a raptor fence broken on a hatchery(btw scenery idea right there) and he lowers the support thingies on his shotgun. when all of a sudden a raptor comes out from a bush next to him, dosnt lunge at him, but looks at him. and the guy goes, clever girl, dosnt turn to shoot, but says a stupid line.then the raptor chews his face off.>_<- idiot!

Ok, as I recall, John Hammond (he's the guy that creates the whole problem by starting the whole cloneing dino's gig) declines to get on the chopper that takes Dr Malcom (Jeff Goldblum in the movie), Dr Grant, the lady and Hammond's grandchildren to safety. Its implied that he then dies by the hand of his creations, but its never actually said anywhere, book or movie.

Muldoon, the game warden, Gets faked out. He aims on what he thinks is a raptor's hiding place only to find it was a decoy and the raptor is right on top of him. He has enough time to compliment her, but not enough time to try and re-aim his weapon to defend himself.

Arnold is the fat programmer who agrees to steal eggs, and is the real reason the disaster happens. He triggers a rolling system failure that allows him into the embryo room, and cuts off the phones. However, as the system comes back up fences dont get energized, or doors locked (the whole point of arnold's plan) which allow the T Rex and Raptors to get loose. Arnold drives off into the rainstorm to a now unused loading dock (where the construction supplies were unloaded) only to get himself stuck in the mud, where he gets himself surrounded by Diplo's (the spitters) and THEY get him, not the compy's or T Rex.

IN the original movie, the only person the Rex gets is the Lawyer who hides in the bathroom. The next time the T Rex 'gets' anyone, its actually a raptor that's got one or more of the 'good guys' cournered (Hammond's grandkids I think)

Thats not what happens... His grandchildren are messing around in the control room and start pressing buttons that activate dinosaur sounds.... That's Nedry not Arnold (Arnold Is the other computer programmer played by Samuel L. Jackson. , Again, Thats the movie. (But there was only one Dilophosauraus)

But when you read the sequel The Lost World, it seems that Malcom didn't died. He survived it; and also Muldoon doesn't die in the book (I know it's already been sed, but some people stay ask things about that)

Apoligies for quoting an image, but I've just realised something. Shouldn't it be Henry Wu and John Arnold? I know Arnold was called Ray in the film, but in the book I think it's John. And I'm pretty sure Wu is Henry in both.

make a wall that has a warning sing on it, and lights on top telling if the electricity is on, like in the movie. you could also make a fence that looks like it was ripped through by a T rex. If you want more ideas, PM me.

One thing though: on the straight fence you have those support thingies on the side for the cables. But you don't for the diagonal peices. I know for just making corners it works, but it wouldn't if we wanted longer diagonal fences.

peep01 and peep02 effect points, Extra Parameters "Bench" and one of the path size flags iirc. Maybe you also need to Scenery Type to "Bench".

Really? I thought that compared to the rest of the peeps he looked normal. The screen before that one the vendor could barely see over the counter, and that's the default one from the game! LOL! I'd much rather have the larger one myself...looks a lot more realistic.

Hey USF Geek, I was making a Jurassic park Ride, but I discovered that you can't use custom animations as of yet so I stopped my work.

Chances are I am not going to finish it (maybe if an animation importer is made), but the chances look slim. I made an electric fence kit, a lighted arch, and immobile doors that can be added to the arch separately (didn't get them to move because of the importer).

I don't want to sound cocky, but I think I did a damn good job on them. I'm willing to let you have my work since they're useless in my hands. Send me a pm or respond and I'll send you the files.

*The reason I can't finish the ride without the animation importer is not because the doors on the arch, it's because I was going to put in all custom dinosaurs and scenery events.

Since he might not respond for a while, if anybody has some basic importer knowledge, I'll send you the the model ovl files and you can release them for me. I don't have the time to fix them up, but I don't want to waste them. The modeling, texturing, and lighting of my stuff is done, I just don't have any of the positions/costs/etc. information filled in correctly.

The fences have red warning lights at night and high voltage signs. The entrance gateway also comes with a closed door as an accessory and the gateway lights up and flickers at night. Please send me a pm usf geek or anybody who doesn't want to see this stuff wasted.

The problem is I don't have time to do that. I was going to but I simply can't. Time is the reason I'm not releasing this stuff on my own. If anybody could help me release these it would be greatly appreciated.

They are usable, but they have no clipping or w/e because I set their width and height and the likes to 0 when I packaged them...and I've since forgotten how to use the importer.

If enough people want it, I can make a separate thread with a download and people can use the unfinished versions, it will probably be just as good as a finished version. And Usf Geek will still have my permission to use them if he wishes as compensation for kind of hijacking his thread (only to contribute to his set of course).

yes, I have known of this. But being how it is so complex making an animated door, imagine trying to animate 20+ custom dinosaurs.
