Random Poll - Who is the best custom scenery maker?

These are in my opinion the best of the best. Not only do they spend alot of their spare time improving a game that we would have probably given up by now if it wasn't for these guys. So who is you favorite?

EDIT: Sorry for those of you who didn't know JCat is Pumper. Maker of Steelworx,Screamworx etc.

I can't vote on this. Just the fact that they took the time to build and share their creations with us for free, makes them all the greatest. I use all of their creations equally. They have extended the life of this game for me.

I must admit if there was no scenery packs i think i'd have sold this game by now. How do they expect us to live using 8 x 1 billboards and Western theming.

Not going to vote, sorry. Each and every person who makes custom scenery has my admiration and I have no interest in a popularity contest that serves no purpose.

EDIT: I know you don't mean this as a popularity contest mini_shima, but there's just way too many talented people who work hard and share everything with us to pick one...or two...or even three. They all deserve it.

I say Shyguy. No offence to all of the CS makers. you all are great. shyguy has great detail and has created the sets we have all wanted. Hint *the Disney Sets*. but i would say that you have all done a great job. :up:

I'd have to say shyguy.

1)He made Main Street Sets, and those are a part of Disneyland. I LOVE DISNEYLAND!

2)He has helped everyone with their parks, almost every park in this froums uses his set(s).

3)He inspired many to create custom scenery, I think he was one of the first ones to create some????

Each one is good at the unique scenery they do. And I appreciate the time
and effort that they, and other scenery creators put into their work. This
game would have been on the shelf a long time ago if not for them.

all of these cs creators have cs that are great and are very helpful. However I voted for Shyguy. Show me someone without the majority of his sets and I will be surprised. I use his sets more than any others.

Although i created this poll i'll share my vote. I chose JCat simply because of his "worx" sets. Everyone uses custom scenery and he is on of the original scenery creators.

Don't get me wrong I love shy guys work but I can't believe some of the original makers e.g Marnetmar, Klinn, JCat don't have the majority of the votes.

WAIT A MINUTE, what am I saying? They are all thief's, that's right, I said it, they have stolen hours of my life. They have caused me to play RCT3 like a crack addict. I could have been outside playing around; climbing trees, jumping streams, throwing Frisbees...nah, I'm middle aged now, I would probably break my neck if I still did most of that stuff.

I also think all of them are great. It's almost impossible to choose between them. I think the topic title should be changed to "Who is your FAVOURITE custom scenery maker?", not who is the best, as they have all made brilliant and useful objects.

My favourite, then, would have to be JCat. Whatever would we do without Steelworx?

Actually I re-read the entire thread and no one posted anything about 'hating' this poll at all. People mentioned that they didn't want to pick only one, and SEVERAL people mentioned people who's names were left off the list (I'm sure those designers feel all 'warm and fuzzy' about being forgotten :confused: ). This is not a version of the Golden Peeps Awards...this is an incomplete list of names you made into a poll. Why does this need to be a competition anyways? Instead of proclaiming only one 'King of CS' and possibly hurting someones feelings we should be thanking and recognizing each and every one of them.

It really is impossible to say who makes the best scenery or who your favourite scenery maker is, as all the custom scenery is great in different ways and we shouldn't be saying who is our favorite as we should be thankful to those who create the scenery in their own time, to make RCT3 better for the community.

of the best CS creators in your poll. Gadget and GuyBrush are
brilliant at it and their scenery looks so realistic.

In fact, there are loads more which should be named in the poll

I think it's stupid idea to compare CS makers. They are all great, and CS is not a competition, one of set is very useful for one person, for another is useless, but everyone, who make custom scenery for us deserve for respect. They did a great fob...

I think anyone that takes the time to make anything extra for us is great. As to who's the best, who knows? That's like asking what kind of music is the best, different strokes for different folks.

I don't know. Stuk71 has no votes, though he was the first one to make a completely original set no one had asked after but lots of folks loved (after Klinn made his Electro-Shock Coaster set). Marnetmar and pumper both came out with great dark ride sets and we (scenery makers both old and new) have released new stuff good and bad ever since.

Perhaps this poll should close and a simple, new thread could be made where folks can chime in and say which set they would like to see expanded or updated- that would be useful in many ways.

Then again, folks like me kind of just come up with an idea - and like art- inspiration is key to a good work. I do look at the custom scenery request thread, though I may not post there- if just to see if there is something that catches my eye.

RCT3 is a wonderfuly creative game, and as more scenery makers try their hand at making scenery, the better it can become. But with all these new sets will come a price- evenrually it might be too hard to decide what's best for any particular project anyway...

Indeed. While some sets look rather boring by "modern" standards, they were pretty revolutionary when they came out. I don't think the best CS creator should be chosen by a poll, if there has to be a "best" CS creator, it should be determined by a contest :p

It was really hard I sat here for 15minutes looking at it and decided everytime I play a park I use atleast 1 of Jcat's sets so I voted him but I want to say thanks to every custom scenery creator our parks would look terrible without your great objects! I'll admit before I knew about this place I was ready to put RCT3 away because I had already done everything with it but 10+ packs a month makes it well-worth playing thanks again! Also Lucky girl's great harbor walls are making my SeaWorld park look awesome!!!(why isnt she on the list?)

Really though its so hard to decided i really cant. There are so many good ones. Also you have to take in to account what they did at what time in RCT3 scenery. RCT3 has got much more advanced in the last year alone so what might look out a date know could of been cutting edge when it came out.

I have been watching this thread now for a couple of days, torn between outright nausea and a twitching smile on my lips...

Generally, I think these kinds of polls (or contests, for that matter...) is just so utterly pointless. Most of us who play RCT3 with custom scenery is equally grateful to ALL the makers of this stuff, that has helped so much to keep the game alive... long after it's "date of expiry"...

To state that someone is better or worse than any other is in my opinion not very constructive... I have now tested well over a hundred of the custom sets and I am equally thrilled every time I see a new set released, no matter who has been the author/artist behind it... And every set has contributed in their way, in their respective era... I mean... The first sets I downloaded were Klinn's ElectroSet and Frameworks... from Vodhin's site and I was so impressed that I immediately had to have Stuk71's Hangar51 set, Iceatcs's Timberframe and Shyguy's first Main Street set... and then I had to have Marnetmar's and Pumpers Dark Ride Sets... and so on and so forth...
I think that is the story for most of us here... (then DRP's Lightz sort of brought a renaissance to the game... and then The Cook figured out animation, billboards now come in all kinds of sizes and peeps can even SIT down in my coffeeshops!... And I can have seagulls soar over my custom fountains!:up: :up: :up: )...

So I just want to say thanks to ALL of the people who have brought their creativity to life in making custom scenery... The RCT community owes a great deal of respect and endless gratitude to all of you...

And... well... Which is the #1 custom scenery set of all time...!!??:D :eek: :weird: (Oh... please!...)

deserves to be up there. I use those

i based my vote on how creative it was and how invetivly used
i voted vodhin cause just the stuff he has made in the last few months have been so inivative to the game. animated striplights, recolorable lights, and tons of things with peep placement and seating.

These are the best IMO, although I voted vodhin, because I find most of his things have great uses, although, The Cook has made some things that people could not make parks without, COUGH Tenuhaic COUGH, so that is why I say him to, plus he made moving doors, drewls:D Shyguy tends to be more of a maker of complete sets, making things exactly how he wants, by that I mean he made all those scenery sets, I have a huge use for the catfish set right now, and many others, that is why he is on there to, I personally congradulate all who can though, there is a long process behind modelling and importing and texturing, so it is no where near as simple as some think.
