Driver 1 rated "Greatest Game of all time"

Pick up the new Gameinformer (issue 164) and turn to the back pages to find an article explaining why Joey Gangemi thinks Driver is the greatest game of all time. (This is a section featured every month where various people tell what they think to be the best game ever.)

I can tell you now that he's incorrect. Although D1, was a very solid and well built game, I wouldn't consider any better than Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, or any other games that were far bigger in their case and made perhaps the biggest impacts in Video gaming history.

Yeah, he's crazy. I'd say Driver is still the best car chase game of all time, but best overall game of all time? No way.

I havn't heard any professional critic say San Andreas is the best game of all time. Most proper reviews I've read for it recognise that it still has a few problems, though it is leading the open world race.

To be honest with you, I'd say those critics are crazy. Oh please. Like Open-World structure is the best thing that's ever happened to video games. No it is not. I would even find Vice City better than San Andreas was because I found many of the RPG elements hard and lacking. If Rockstar North wants a lot of hours for the gamer to play then why not make it somewhat of an Open-World/Driving/Action/MMOG?

The person who knows which game is the best would need to have played almost every great game that came out. You can't just spot a game and say that it's the best one of all time. Sure San Andreas can be his best game that he's ever played, but of it being the best game anyone else has played and being better than any other game is just a stupid thing to say. That wouldn't give it much to support by just playing it and not having played all the other very great games.

if you want to know, GameTrailers had people vote for their favorite game and Zelda: Ocarina of Time was number 1
but come on! Can't this guy have a favorite game?

Yes you're right, Yackemflaber. If it's his most favorite game, then let it be, but I won't say that everyone should agree with him.

GTASA is a great cartoony open world game with plenty of freedom, but the colors are oversaturated at times, and all that extra stuff like eating, weight lifting and dating are neat ideas, but not very fun in my opinion, I rather be driving or swimming underwater, exploring.

Still, I enjoy DPL a bit more, thanks to the more realisitic cars and Driver controls plus the super quick load times, compared to GTA. Now only if that helicopter worked in DPL.

Driver the best game ever made? Only if you love car games most of all. I would put it in my top five best game series along with GTA.

rofl! your only 90% done on your FIRST SA game Mr. Tanner? im on my 7TH and almost done with it! i have beaten 6 games 100% without cheating and im almost done with the 7th. that shows how much fun it is. i do admit i used a strategy guide to find the package things but who has time to find all of them....still i didnt use any cheat codes
