Game testing

I was just wondering if anyone out there would have any good advice on how to go about being a full fledged game tester. I've been playing games since I was about 4yrs old.
It is all I've ever wanted to do, I tried everything I can think and I'm afraid you are my last hope.

Come back and visit this forum often:) . All beta tests are announced here with instructions on how and where to apply. In your application, be sure to list your gaming experience (titles), how long you have been gaming and why you think you would make a great beta tester.

There are several websites out there that have news on open/public betas. Just google you a search about beta testing pc games. I got into open/public betas back in 1999 an been going steady since.

If you live near a city like New York, Boston, or Los Angeles, there will be software developers around, many of them hiring testers. However there is a huge supply of testers available, so it's a bit of a low wage job... you can try a site like gamasutra.com and see if there are any testing jobs in your area... if you find anything, prepare to be disappointed, though (from either them ignoring your application, declining your application, or the commute time to a major city)...

The Atari beta test forum and upcoming.. (:haha:) site is for occassional beta testing, but there's no pay involved.. it's just for fun... I suppose you could put it on your resume. Maybe.

You still need certain qualifications for Atari to let you participate in the public beta tests, though... typically having reading, writing, "checking" skills is needed and some indication that Atari can trust you not to leak info on the beta tests... that or luck (in the case of the random drawings for some amount of beta testers)
