Post your character, mine would have these features:
* Wears an expensive suit, gray, dark blue or black
* Name: Sean Wilkinson
* Age: 35
* Born in: Washington D.C. (British father, American mother)
* Darkbrown hair, James Bond-style haircut
* Lenght about 5 foot 9
* Holds a .357 Magnum in a shoulder holster
* Drives a red 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback or a dark blue 1987 Range Rover
* Owns an apartment in NY, but has a house in London and Paris too

For a playble character, I still want Tanner.
Dutchguy
11-29-2006, 03:26 PM
I know, me too but since he's been shot and passed away in D3, it wouldn't make sence. How do you like my character BTW?
Mr. Tanner

Tanner made it out alive. He was dying, but not dead. I like your idea for a character Dutchguy.
Dutchguy

Thanks, Mr. Tanner, you're a great friend!
Mr. Tanner

Thanks man! You're an awesome friend as well! My good Dutch buddy!
Dutchguy
11-29-2006, 03:50 PM
Why thank you, U.S. buddy! BTW, have you seen the new Bond movie ''Casino Royale'' yet? It's awesome!
Mr. Tanner
11-29-2006, 03:55 PM
No I haven't seen the new James Bond movie yet. I'm not sure if I will. I've been busy and I'm still going to be.
Anyway, I was thinking, how about you can buy cars at an auto dealership and this way you can change your mind on what you want. Whether it being an Escalade, 300C, Porsche, Nitro, Trail Blazer, or whatever. That would be cool for the player to play. You should also be allowed to buy things for easy home storage like go carts, bikes, scooters, and tractor lawn mowers.
Dutchguy
11-29-2006, 03:57 PM
That would be nice! It would be cool to if you could visit a real-estate company and pick out a nice house.
Mr. Tanner
11-29-2006, 04:01 PM
That would be cool too. It would also be cool if you can have auto insurance too. So you can pay less if your car gets wrecked.
I would also like it if maybe you can change your outfit (having pre-arranged sets of pants, shirts and/or jackets), and also having it so you can shave. After all, you'd be a man (hopefully), you grow facial hair, that's why we men shave. Stuff like this can also change your appearence too.
Dutchguy
11-29-2006, 04:03 PM
And, damn it Reflections, we want driveable trains!
Mr. Tanner

Damn straight!:cool::punk:
But the character you play, yes I think you should be able to change your appearence. I looked at pictures of me around Christmas of last year (I didn't shave that week) and I compared that to a picture of me around now, and I look SO DIFFERENT. I had hair all over my face. And now, I have sort of a stubble and I shaved (like I do pretty much everyday). Even within a day my face turns gray. I want that to happen in Driver 5. Like when you play SA, D:PL, or Driv3r, you play as a man and you don't grow any hair on your face.

How about this for D5:

It would be cool to have cable cars if you were to have Switzerland or Rio again. But I'd rather want to see good ol'... New York, NY!!!!! I'm not saying that Rio and Switzerland suck, it's just that New York would be better off in the game. So I don't really care if they come back in Driver 5 (Rio and Switzerland).

NY would be better, indeed

There is a way of using cable cars in NY and at Niagara Falls. I've seen cable cars driving around from one area to the other as I was in Niagara Falls and it looks like they went back and forth between Canada and NY. Maybe adding some access to areas within Canada as an unlockable bonus in D5 would be a cool idea.

Oh yeah I remember now! I remember seeing the cable cars at Niagara Falls! But that's not NYC, it's upstate New York. That would be cool to see if Niagara Falls is in Driver 5.

I was playing as 2006 TK, and he's a really cool character in my opinion. I would give him a black jacket, maybe even a trenchcoat. If Tanner returns, I want to see him wear a coat this time, and maybe grow his hair a little longer for some more style.
If I could create any character in the customization mode, I might create a Blade Character from the Blade movies, with the trenchcoat, but instead of sword, a shotgun. Neo from the Matrix, The Punisher, maybe a James Bond character, Gabe Logan from Syphon Filter. But Scorpion from Mortal Kombat would probably be my number one custom character that I'd use most often.

There's a cable car on the Brooklyn Bridge I think (or was it another bridge in NY?)

Back in the old days (late 19th century or early 20th Century) the Brooklyn Bridge had a trolly line on it I think. You can ride something called "The Tram" from Midtown to FDR Island. I never rode or seen it before.
Now for clothing, I'd like to have it so you can choose your outfit. You should also be able to put on hats and glasses as accessories.
Dutchguy
11-30-2006, 04:28 PM
I really like those Fedora hats and aviator/motorcop glasses
Mr. Tanner
11-30-2006, 04:42 PM
I like TK's aviators in '78. How they're half green tinted/half clear. In SA you can buy glasses like sun glasses, clear glasses, and even joker glasses. And I'd like it if you can wear glasses and it'll either make everything nearsighted or farsighted. Or you can wear sunglasses (of many different colors) and have the tint of everything change when you play the game. It makes wearing eyewear much more worthwhile. Like in SA I have my CJ wear sunglasses and it doesn't effect the tone of everything on the screen.
Hats would be cool too. Like kellies, baseball caps, wool, sweatbands, fedoras, and others.

You guys done making puppy love? I'm kidding. :p Nice ideas.
Here is what my personal Driver character would be. But I put in some of my personal ideas, so please, nobody take them... Unless it is Reflections which they so desperately need.

Birth place: Missouri, USA

Main weapon: 9mm Pistol (other selections, of course)

What do you guys think of my character?
Mr. Tanner
12-01-2006, 02:50 PM
I guess Corbin Wade is a good character idea. Although I'd like to have Tanner still as the playble character. Now why is it that you would like parallel eras? Where's the bridge between 1988 and 2004? Like does he go to jail or something like TK?

Heh, is she for an assassin game or a Driver game, drivergrl? But that's okay, you got a great imagination. Keep it up! :up:

No, he spends 17 years being with his family. After spending years with the bad guys, he get's the mind to quit and run away from the dangerous people he works for. When 17 years later, the bad guys hunt him down and destroys his family and Corbin is then out for revenge, of course he is a little older. It makes things interesting. And it wouldn't be done as lame as how DPL was done, it was not very interesting and was pretty short.

Nice work guys (and drivergrl), you came up with good characters!
wearing prescription glasses that blur your vision is a pretty daft idea, but wearing sunglasses that change the tint and cut down on the glare is a great idea. As much as 007 Nightfire sucked as a bond game, it was pretty cool putting on those glasses that switched your vision to ultraviolet, infra red etc. Splinter Cell does that too, but Nightfire had a nice 1st person animation of the glasses being put on and covering the screen. Nice touch.

I like the way Saint's Row allows you to create your own personal character's looks. I'm not sure if it would work with a driver game, but I'd still love to have the option. I think most people would enjoy creating a version of themselves and playing out their fantasies in their own race/size/gender. I'm sure they couldn't include the necessary options to recreate this fantastic bod though. I'm so tired of playin' as ugly characters!
:D
I haven't got my hands on the Godfather yet, but I think they have something a bit along those lines in that, too. I'm not really fussed what the main character looks like. It could be a woman for all I care. As long as the character has a personality that's their own, not borrowed from some B movie.

Kramer rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Tanner

Ahhh good ol' Kramer!
Good Ol' Kramer is about right- it's the New Kramer who's not in people's good books! You heard about his outburst, right?

Yeah, I heard about Michael Richard's outburst.

As long as he has a great wheelman style. I'm fine with it! Actually, Kramer might not be such a bad character at all, if done right.
I haven't got my hands on the Godfather yet, but I think they have something a bit along those lines in that, too.
I made my Godfather character look like Tanner in Driver2 before I traded it! I wish I kept it longer though, but oh well... It looked just like Tanner in Driver 2. I actually got confused with what game I was playing. I thought I was playing a Driver game set in the 1930's / 40's.

I did too. A few days later, Jay Leno insulted Richards on the Tonight Show.
BTW, having Jerry Seinfeld for a character would be fun too:

yeh, interesting idea; I think Driver should have both a First Person and Third Person view to it.
First Person
-Giving Dashboard View with the ability to move the view of your head around by using the left or right joystick. And pressing that same joystick to move your eyeballs around. Buttons to put on and take of those glasses and such.
Third Person
-Giving an outside view of the car like in DPL also allowing you to move the camera view around the car with the left or right joystick and you shouldn't notice the glasses that much because it Old Style view :D
having to click down a joystick to look around isn't very intuitive. Just take the current 3rd person controls and replicate them for 1st person. Done.
