Nice, good to know. I currently only got a GeForce 6200SE /w turbocache.
But I'll get better soon.
btw, the demo won't start for me. It freezes up at the beginning, as the intro starts. I'm not quite sure how to fix this problem, my french sucks ass.

Well, obviously they'll be the same as for the French version, so here it is (from the box of the French version):
OS: XP
CPU: 2 GHz with 512 MB of RAM
Graphic Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible 3D card with 128 MB
Nvidia FX 5200, ATI 9500 or above
Hard drive: 10 GB of available space
DVD Rom Drive: 2X
Sound Card: DirectX 9 compatible

Well I know that's not true - at least the video card part, cuz I've only got an ATI Radeon X600 w/256MB & it plays like a dream for me. Maybe my processor's making up for it though?:

You know that x600 is newer and better than 9500 right? (the whole xSomething series is much more recent than a 9500...) And your card has twice the minimum video memory required as well.
By the way, if you could use the thumbnail feature provided by ImageShack, it'd be great, 'cause your images stretch the forum on small but common resolutions (like 1024x768, very common on laptops), adding horizontal scrollbar.
Just use this code for your two pictures http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/4969/silverfall1iz5.th.jpg (http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/4969/silverfall1iz5.jpg)

Hey thanks for telling me that! I checked it out & you're right. For like the last year and a half I've been thinking all the game developers were idiots who never bothered trying to play their game on older video cards. I never knew I had a newer one than the one's they were reccommending. :)
Oh and I resized the images I posted so it shouldn't make a horozontal scroll bar appear for anyone anymore. Anybody whose computer can't support a resolution large enough to see them now without scrolling sideways has no business being here, cuz they won't be able to play Silverfall anyway! :D

Using the ImageShack thumbnail feature would have been better, even if it now show correctly on 1024x768. Main reason is some people have slow connection, and thus they have to wait longer for this page with the big image than with thumbnail. Second is that is saves bandwidth for ImageShack (and everyone with pictures hosted there benefit indirectly from it), hence why they recommend to use it. Last, for your resolution comment: some people use different computers for surfing (like home and at work), or simply a different computer for surfing and for gaming (like me, I play on my windows desktop computer with a 19'' at 1600x1200, but surf and code on my linux laptop at 1024x768).

Look, thank you for educating me about my video card. I really do appreciate it very much. That's why I did something when you said you didn't like how it made people viewing the forum in 1024x768 have to scroll sideways.
But I'm trying to help as many people as possible to convert their French Silverfall into English, and before they will contact me, that requires first & foremost that they believe I know how.
Showing the picture in the post will get more people's attention than if everyone had to click on a link, which means more people will know that I've already done it & I'm not just BSing them. It's not like I'm posting in all caps or something rude like that.
So far I've helped 19 people, and I honestly don't think it would be that many if the images weren't displayed in the message.
There are forums that don't allow image insertion on posts & they either disable BB code altogether or at least the [IMG] feature. This one clearly allows it or I wouldn't be able to do it.
Plus, as is evidenced in my own thread:
http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557769
When I resized the images there and asked that Sephiroth666, who had quoted my entire post, either remove the pictures or re-quote me with the new image sizes (which I also did only because I wanted to make you happy), [BFs]GBesaw (aka Gramps) edited Sephiroth666's post to remove the images, thus making the thread user friendly for people viewing at 1024x768 resolution.
He is a Mod in this forum. So that means he was definitely aware of my images being there. If he felt they shouldn't have been, he would have removed mine as well from both my thread and yours. But he didn't, so that must mean he's ok with it, and he is the Mod, not you.
Now, I have removed the images entirely from your thread, so you can rest assured that people with slow connections will be able to load this page as quickly as possible.
As for Imageshack, they may reccommend using thumbnails, but they still allow direct links, so I'm not violating their policy either.
Finally, the comment about people not being able to play Silverfall was just a joke. All I was trying to do was make you laugh, hoping we could still become friends despite us getting off on the wrong foot.
But since you clearly don't like me, how about we just agree on this: I promise never again to post images in any thread that you start, and you let me do whatever I want in threads that I start, ok?

Enough on image post subject. Let's get this thread back on topic -- video cards requirements. We would like more input from folks that are playing the demo/game on what system/gpu they are using and the playability with various video cards.
How would making a screen shot thread sound? It can clearly be marked as containing high resolution images to warn forum members of the high download times/display requirement. Thoughts?

hahaha sounds like you are on the right page [BFs]GBesaw. I havent tried it yet but im guessing my pc wont run it, here are my specs.

Your video card is a problem -- It does not support dx9 and with 64 Mb memory, it will probably be a no-show. If you want to continue with a all in wonder card, the 9600 or All in wonder 2006 card may fit the bill. Not sure what you budget is like, but both those cards are relatively in expensive now.
