Hi, I just bought I-War after years of not being able to find it, with the purpose of seeing what got the ball rolling with respect to the fantastic I-War 2: E.O.C that i'd bought after missing I-War first time around.

Problem is, my pc is a P4 3ghz, 1gbRAM, 256mb ATI Radeon9550 running XP SP2. So obviously, i can't get I-War to run :(

I've had a good look around the forums, tracked down the 1,24 patch, the glide patch, and found dgVoodoo but, i still can't make it run. I get no error messages, all that happens is that when i start the game, it opens for a split second, then is gone. As though i'd never executed it.

I've seen some posts about the virtual memory issues, but to be honest, i'm not overly sure on how to adjust them.

Any help you guys could offer on how to get it up and running would be very greatly appreciated, even if its just a link to some old posts i might have missed. lol.

Download the dgVoodoo glide wrapper and put the files in your i-war folder. After that, just run the game from the voodoo2 shortcut. I got that working on my system with 2gb ram and virtual memory to match...

Thanks TonViper, but i'd already done that after reading all the posts regarding it. Unfortunately it hasn't made any difference, other than getting the little options screen. If i try to run in software, nothing happens at all, as tho i'd not told it to run, other than an I-War tab coming up on the task bar then going again within the space of about 2 seconds. If i try any of the Voodoo options, i very briefly get a window pop up, but then that just disappears too and i'm once again left as though i'd never tried to load up I-War.

Now, when i installed the game, just after it created the icons, i got a crash. Something about an I-War test routine or the likes (maybe a graphics test?) and how it had failed to run this test.

I've seen on a few threads that there are tricks to initially getting the game running under XP, but i can't find any reference as to what these tricks might be.
