For Bug Reporting, are the reports tied to our existing forum accounts? If so, I'd like to make a friendly bet that out of all the people who've posted in this thread, you'll only see bug reports from maybe 3 of them.

Seems like most folks here feel they have some inherent right to PLAY this game for free. When, ultimately, it's an open beta TEST - where the implication is that you are providing a service to ATARI to report problems and/or hardware incompatabilities.

I say, forget the open beta altogether. Don't bother releasing it. Just let your existing test staff (who are paid to do this) continue to test, and release the game when you're ready. I can wait.

Hope you're hanging in there, BTA. You're certainly earning your pay today, eh? ;)

but they have chosen to release the beta though, like you said, about 95%+ will use it as a demo sadly.

i however will try and do my best to write an detailed report. could be able to do so aswell, i play 8-10 hours a day!

I feel for the BTA. Atari obv have the beta ready and from what I can make out, they're waiting on IGN to start hosting it. However, it's the BTA and Atari taking the flack. Maybe their hands are tied? Seems the BTA is doing what he can to give us an approx time so I thank him for that.

I think Atari needs more forum Mods.. I would start by handing out a few 24hr bans.. see if that had any effect. If not, move on to registration BETA release, block them again from getting the BETA. Good to see everybody so excited over the beta (me too, personally, that's why I've registered at the forums!) but, let's not go crazy, huh? I'm sure the admins are working their hardest to get the beta off on some semblance of a schedule, and I especially would like to thank BetaTestAdmin for keeping us on the US forums informed! :) (it's a lot more vague on the EU side actually XD)

I'd like to see how many people still complain about being a day or two late (maybe?) when we're finally all running around the coast of Oahu :)

atari should be happy for us testing the beta. Free testing by potential customers...... paying for the end product. they are shifting the release of the beta for 3 days now. this gives me some confidence for after release support. think before you do.......

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. We don't handle the keys. In fact, we aren't even hosting the beta. This is the first beta we have ever done through a 3rd party company (IGN/FilePlanet).

IGN handles the key distribution.

And as I said earlier, all I personally can do is try and give you updates. Which, again, are not exact because there is another company involved here.

lol there are alot of complainers here but you know as much as I hate the complaining I will say one thing how Atari is handling this is not right they just keep saying not yet not yet in a few hrs from now why don't they just say you know not today. The way they are handling this seems very poor on the business side of things

From what i've seen at fileplanet, they will have an ad on the front page that will bring you to a sign up page where you enter your email and other info..they will then send you an email with your key and a link to the download.

That's how it has worked in the past, so i'm going to assume it's going to be the same way for this.
