No you'll be "screened" first, it's been said here on the forum. Then you'll get the key by e-mail

If you participate in an online race, with let us say 6 people?, and one or two persons decide to disconnect because they are losing the race.. and do not want to lose their money... can they get away with that or does the game/serversystem has something for them as a penalty??

I said like on 6600 GT, coz I have that GPU with only 128 MB, but I think that it will be enough to play it on minimum, only thing I need is confirmation.

Troyl, the game will run more over with Vista.

On another note to the users asking for keys, You will not get one. If you do get one, it is probably a key that is already in use and the main server will just kick you and the other player off. It's rather useless to even attempt to get a key. If you must get a key, wait ONE MORE day for Friday and it'll be an open beta.;)

I'm really sorry that Fileplanet pulled the rug out from under you by not making the subscriber only aspect clear. That really sucks, and I'm sorry you ended up getting "hung out dry". I, for one, really appreciate you keeping the community in the loop, and the extra mile you've gone to get us up-to-the-minute information.

It really frustrates me to no end to see people, feeling entitled to "free" stuff, shoot the messenger when the situation changes. As someone who's been working in the games industry for the last 11 years, I know what you're going through. Hang in there, and keep up the great work!

Ok, I uninstalled the closed beta client, then installed the new open beta client. It never asked me for a key, so I guess the closed beta key was still in the registry somewhere. Game runs fine and I can play in online mode.

So to all those people claiming that a closed beta key does not work for open beta: you're wrong :D

No. Nothing is confirmed. The admin said he "THOUGHT" that you could "MAYBE" get it friday evening. That means saturday morning for you.

Yep, seems like they still didn't fix the graphics bugs (flickering and very low framerate). Changing some video options usually helps (like changing AA, click accept, then change it back).
Or just quit the game and restart it. Quite strange bug, because it occurs at random, even without changing any settings.

Are there plans on dx10 optimization? or any benefits for dx10? a patch later on would be a great idea for you guys Atari. in case you guys do not know, however much your internet speed, your download speed will almost be the same.

lets say you have 6000kbps speed, you're now downloading at 100kb/s, if you upgrade your internet to 10000kbps, ur speed will most likely be the same. here are some factors that limits ur speed.

UR LOCATION:
if you're staying in the us, ur speed of downloading will generally be faster, why?ur staying nearer to the downloading point, which is fileplanet which is located in US.

MANY DL'ERS:
if there's more and more downloaders, the server might not be fast enough to keep the downloading speed constant as the server is the only seed. therefore the speed is somewhat divided, which also tells us why there's waiting time, after a server has a number of leeches, it goes slow.

SECUROM is just another STARFORCE(worst), to get rid of that error, try disabling or even uninstall all anti-virus programme(e.g.norton)

not just disable but also uninstall try the first step, if cannot u needa uninstall

O come on guys. Why are you some impatient. Just wait till evening PST and than check fileplanet every 15-30 minutes. It has nothing to do with admin or mods, only IGN/Fileplanet knows when it will be released in public.

im really glad im of some help, maybe with the full version released in feburary, it might not have securom(most probably), that programme is used widely by many betas and demos, count urself lucky that starforce wasn't used, you know what happen when u use starforce?
they give you a message like this:
the programme(starforce) will be install on this computor, we hereby seek ur permission and hold no responsibility to ur computor as this programme(starforce) will remain in your computor even after you delete the beta.

there's also a message like it can't be deleted anyway and required the admin of that starforce to del. it.

by the way, yup, no other ways but disable that antivirus

Don't tell me that you think it's ok to disable antivirus software.....And, BTW, this (securom/starforce) it is not the best method to convince me to buy games, there will allways be a crack somewhere in the internet. Torrents go againist the NDA. Talk and use of a torrent for Atari beta program will get your ass instantly banned. Not to mention you still need a key to play

Just because you enable it doesn't mean the game supports it. I've tried both SLI options, neither provide a performance boost over a single GPU.
I used nhancer to test, which is about 1000x better then the default nvidia control panel.

erm to clarify, it's seriously OKAY to have antivirus disabled, i have a computor(old) for like 4 years? only rarely do i have problems, that's when you go to hacking sites and all sorts of popups comes. i at home have a panda platinum editon but i don't use it cause it lags my computor..surfing net, as i said, don't go hacking sites especially.

Well, i don't visit suspicious sites, but let's say that i have a friend who does and he gets infected with a virus wich send by e-mail copies of himself. Without an antivirus, when I open such an e-mail (wich appears to be sent by my friend), the virus will infect my computer ;). And tink about virusses that spread through IM's like yahoo messenger.
And when I say that "I'll buy a game if that game is really great, or if I can not play it online", I was trying to say that one of the reasons to buy a game is a valid licence to play it online, but my english sucks.
