Anyone watch this show still?

Last night's episode was weird the title of the episode was called Mellow Maromi.

Too bad there's only 13 episodes made.:(

I remember this used to play after Lupin the III, but everytime I planned on watching it, I'd finish Lupin, and then my mom would come out and scream at me for being awake 2 in the morning on a school night watching T.V.

So I never got to watch it.

The show.

It's about a show were people are paranoid about something and they have to face that fear and if they don't do that a boy named Lil Slugger will come after them and wack them with his golden bat(which kills them).Lil Slugger is some kind of ghost even though you can see him and he hits you with his bat.Lil Slugger is sort of like a scapegoat helping people stop having intense stress about something.

Looks like an interesting anime. I will have to check to see if some retailers online have it.

It's pretty confusing. I had to watch the whole series twice before actually understanding it.:bulb:

I said the same thing about Read Or Die. I still said it through every episode I watched until I gave up on it. :o

Tim you must be talking about the ROD TV show, the OVA is a lot better. The TV show is a little bland. As far as Paranoia Agent goes, it is definately odd, I only saw the first episode and thought "nope, too odd".

ROD was pretty good imo. I just never finished it because we cancled G4TV. :bulb:

Which upset me because they always had good anime running from 2-6 a.m.

Go out to your local anime store & buy the ROD TV DVDs, they are uncensored (not that they had that much censored stuff on the show) and the limited editions (which you probably can still find) come with pencil boards featuring rather nice pics of the girls (including Yomiko Readman & Nancy Matahari). However some are rather "adult" oriented, so be warned.

Paranoia Agent is also availible on DVD, so if you want to watch the show without commercials (and in Japanese if so desired) go out and buy them.

This is one of my favorite short-running animes. There are only thirteen episodes, but I'm pretty sure that's all that was intended to be made in the first place. It's best to watch them in order or else you will be very confused.

I remember watching all 13 episodes of Paranoia Agent. I have to say it's one of the weirdest series I have ever seen on Adult Swim. The metaphors in this series are double layered, and I think it's a reflection of some counterculture.

Am I he only one that can understand any show by watching it ONE time. Except Ergo Proxy. That show is hard as hell.

Tsukiko Sagi wasn't paying attention one day when walking her dog Maromi, and her dog was hit by a car. She didn't want to admit it to her father or herself, so she made up a lie that a boy "Shounen Bat/Lil Slugger" came and killed him. In the near future there are attack on seemingly random people by the same person, but in reality, these people were driven into a psychological corner and so they also made up Shounen Bat as a way out of their problems. At the end, everyone is driven into this state, and that one police guy with the metal bat fights Shounen Bat, the embodiment of everyone's troubles, problems, and paranoia, in order to save the country/city/whatever. The little dog plushie Maromi is also part of Tsukiko's lie, and is the same as Lil' Slugger because Just as Tsukiko made up Lil Slugger to pin the blame on, she also made up Maromi to make sure that she herself doesn't take responsibility for it.

That's as best as I feel like explaining it right now for anyone who doesn't understand.

They're just minor characters.

I suppose......why doesn't she want to take responsibility for it though.....isn't she taken it a bit far?

He dog just got killed and it's her fault, of course she doesn't want to take responsibility for it. But at the end, she does, so I guess it's okay.
