You definitely need to learn to unweld. It doesn't matter that much for your boats, but for walled or technical things welded objects won't do.

Belgabor- How do i do this...

If I remember correctly, CoasterSim.Fan explained it for Anim8or in your boat thread.

I was sure he posted it somewhere recently. Whatever, I found this old post (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=543763&highlight=unweld) where he explains it.
You still should read my facts&figures page to understand what it is and why it is necessary ;)

Unwelding works differently in anim8tor, so what you did doesn't work. It is not a "real" unweld function in the sense of the first paragraph of my explanation.
I haven't tested it, but the name implies that the function is supposed to be used on individual faces. It cuts out your selection from the rest of the object, essentially unwelding all the edges of the face(s) you selected.
CoasterSim.Fan
01-14-2007, 07:37 PM
In anim8or it basically works by cuting each face and making it its own mesh.
You can try it by taking a single mesh and after a loop cut in the mesh list each face has its own mesh and also if you move a face after loop cut the rest of the modal wont move with it. So to not have a mesh for each face in the importer you have to join them back together.
If its the going back together that's confusing you make sure you go back to object edit mode not point edit mode to join solids.
If your using multiple mesh objects and want some types for them let me know.

Looks nice, but like brought out, you need to get the unwelding under control....question...how do you texture with anim8r? I thought it didn't support textures...
J-Playa
01-15-2007, 02:17 PM
obi-wan-cannoli- Thanks for your comment. You can texture on Anim8or. Just click the texture icon which is like 6 circles. Then click new. Diffuse and then add texture. Then you choose your texture and apply. It's easy

I'm already thinking up dozens of uses for this set, but you really need to sort the welding out like everybody is saying.
It's a shame the faans and wind turbines aren't animated, because I suppose you could do it with animated textures or something, but I'm guessing you have no idea how to do that. But whenever I see wind turbines they aren't moving anyway cause there's no wind, so I don't suppose it matters... I do, however, have a small suggestion.
Could you possibly make variations of the wind turbine with the fan blade thingies at different agles? It would look more realistic as they wouldn't all be in the same position. Just one or two more versions would be great. And, if it isn't too much trouble, could we have them in diagonal too?
