Thanks to CoasterSim.Fan's tutorial for Anim8or, i can now Un-Weld. Now my object has '2' meshes instead of like '9'. But.... Now my model has '2' meshes. Mesh '1' is called 'Box Lid' and Mesh '2' is just called Mesh '2'. But my Box Lid is all one texture (a dark grey all over) but my Mesh '2' is different textures! On the importing when assigning the textures to my model i can do the Box Lid one easily. But what about Mesh '2'? It has about different textures on it! Here is a screenshot

(Sorry for the giant Pic) Please help me!

Thanks

I think that the different shapes should come up in your mesh as different shapes when you put it into the editor, but I could be wrong. As I dont use Anim8or. If this is so, then you can assign a different texture to each shape.

Well, you can only assign one texture per group/mesh, so if you need different ones you need to split it up accordingly in Anim8or.

Nice job on getting this to work. I would suggest using the hid button and doing it one mesh at a time if you want everything to stay separate.

Thanks for your replies. Please explain to me in more detail though. Here is a little tutorial of what im doing...

I select all the point on my model with drag-select.

Then i click "Edit-Loop Cut".

When ive done that, i select my whole model.

Then "Build- Join Solids".

http://aycu04.webshots.com/image/8643/2005066596259609288_fs.jpg

Now my object becomes "One Mesh".

I save it, then export it as Wavefront.obj and then convert it on Biturn to ASE.
Then i load the textures on the importer then i go and assgin the textures. But.....
There is only "One Mesh". The model im using here has about originally "11 meshes" and the
textures on each mesh are different.

Please help me, i'll be so greatful.

Thanks

The better, and simplier choice, is to make one very simple box and make a texture to give it the illusion of a complicated piece. So instead of disappearing a few feet away from it, it will stay visable for a much longer range.

Why do you "join solids"?

In CoasterSim.Fan's tutorial it says to do that?

You have to join sold because loop cut in anim8or makes each face a mesh so join solids makes the face back in to a mesh.

The thing you have to do though is do it mesh by mesh using the hide button if you want them 11 mesh to stay separate in the importer.

Ok, so i do it one mesh at a time. Where is the hide button located?

Its under edit hide. You use it by selecting a mesh and then hit hide then (all other mesh will go away) when you done go back to edit show all to see them all again.
