This is my first cs set ever......

Blood
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/7783/betterblood3at.png (http://imageshack.us)

This set contains 15 different pieces that can be put together to make blood puddles and splatters as shown in the pic above....

This set was originally for someone who requested it to be created in a thread Weasel and I started (Link in Sig...) All pieces are full confirming pieces.

In this Pic you can see the full tile piece, 3 edge pieces, and 3 corner pieces.....

This pic shows the Diagonal piece, and two diagonal edge pieces to go with it......

In this pic you can see the 5 different splatter pieces....

This set should be released sometime tommorrow, or as soon as I finish with the icon pics for all the pieces.

This is my first set so I'm open to all comments, and suggestions.;)

How sick is this??? What's so great on splatting blood? Make them colourable and add some vertical versions too so anyone can place them on walls etc as colour-spots, swamp-pieces etc.

If you read my first post, I said that I made this set by someones request. I'm not going to make vertical pieces because JCat's Screamworks already has blood for walls.

I feel like Silent Hill the splat blooded everywhere like wall, floor and on the couch. I think lots of bloody in the Hospital.

Still, makeing them recolorable allows them to be used for more than just a lake of blood. Personally I dont see what you'd need it for outside of a horror show, but making it recolorable will solve that.

Good work. There is one thing I'd change. It looks like you used an alpha texture for your diagonal base piece (there is some cruft around the edge). Just make it one triangle and use SIOpaque =)

This set looks promising. I like the fact that the components are recolor-able. I can make some cool paint spills with this. Now I just need to find custom paint buckets which sits upright and on their sides which have recolor-able paint edges. It funny how sets like this can become so versatile. I might even use it for oil spills or oil leaks from under cars. These could make a parking lot appear older and more realistic.

I might even find a uses for the blood color as well.http://www.reiki-karuna.net/smileys/halloween/draculaa.gif

Sorry it is taking so long. I'm trying to find a solution to make the pieces mesh together better when placed. I'm redoing the Diagonal piece Due to Blegabor's suggestion. I'm working as fast I can for you guys. I can't say when I'll get the alpha blending thing figured out. any help on this would be greatly apprecieated!

Also if you find this set gross, or not-useful, remember as I have said several times, I made this by request. I am only trying to do a nice thing. As for the rest of you, thank you very much for all the nice encouraging comments.

Try to map the textures not fully, ie make the mapping a bit smaller. Textures are tiled, so sometimes rounding errors in the game engine make the mapping a bit larger, which leads to the other end of the texture showing up leading to the small seams you see in several of your screenshots.
You could also make a big texture (shared via a texture ovl) with a big splotch in the middle and 'cut-out' your tiles via texture mapping like a jigsaw puzzle. That would guarantee that over the rim of your texture transparent wouldn't directly border opaque.
