The New 2007 Fire, Water, Laser Compition -- 1st Round is UP !

Hello and welcome to the 2007 Feb.- Mar. Fire, Water, and Laser Show
Competition. I am pleased to announce this competition
for the second time and welcome any new members! This
competition is about making a Spectacular show using the mixmaster in RCT3

A Few New Rules:

1st Round
-Must be longer than 1 min shorter the 10
-You can use custom fireworks
-A stage is not required
-Must have ground fireworks and air fireworks
-(as you know) fireworks only
-due date anywhere up till the 16th of March

Points:

out of 100
you will be awarded:

20 for originality
10 for song choice
-15 if a rule is broken
20 for timing
50 for comments and critics

There are now 4 rounds !!!

1st-Firework show only ! (due date may 1st)
2nd- Laser show only !
3rd-Water show only !
4th-Fire Laser and Water show all together

Do not start until starting date bec. you do not know the
unique rules soo making a mixmaster and it not abidding by the rules
will result in you having to fix or redo your mixmaster

Can we upload the file somewhere for you to view when were done (Obviously im not done but just asking. Was thinking about this for a long time and want to upload it)? Im making my show to the 9 minute version of Stairway to Heaven and it will be way to long to make a video. Escpecially when the in game video maker takes too long and doesn't record music and i don't have a digital video camera either.

Wait, we have to make a show with only fireworks and two more with only lasers and waterjets? Could we use one of the first three and add the other elements to it for the final show?

It'll be really hard to make a waterjet show, even with the advanced waterjet editor, there aren't many possiblities.

Acually you can do quite alot with the water jets. If you constantly change the movemnet of the water jet then it is quite nice to watch.

Not from far away, it looks skippy on my comp. Too bad we can't mix fireworks and lasers. I was planning to use them in my Led Zeppelin show to draw out Led Zeppelin at the very end.

and yes it is four separate shows but different due dates

Is it ok if the songs we sync to our shows have swearing in them? Just wanted to make sure because most of my music does.

You know what, I'll save my Led Zeppelin Idea for the last round. It'll be awesome! First round song is either Lazy Boy dash by Jimmy's Chicken Shack or City On Flame With Rock N' Roll by Blue Oyster Cult. Such a hard decision.

EDIT - Never mind that choice. I'm using All I Want by The Offspring. It's 2 fast minutes of hardcore fireworks, it's going to be at least. My water show might be city on flame with rock n roll. I can simulate a fire department putting out a burning city. Lazy Boy Dash will be lasers.


Also, do we have to win in round 1 to get to round 2 or is it a cumulative score?

im only at 2 mins now but my song is 5/6 mins long the song is Unholy Warcry by Rhapsody the long version! but i think its turning out pretty good!

Im only halfway through All I Want. It's a two minute song, but I need to use about 3/4 fireworks each second. BTW, will points be taken off because I can't sync the first few seconds because the firework doesn't fit?

I can see that it might be necessary to postpone this comp until more people join. I still intend to judge unless you overrun into May/june, cos I have exams then.

I'm having trouble getting the vidio online. my connection's got this wierd problem where it times-out in short time periods. these are often less than the time it takes to get the movie up, so i have to make it smaller, this would also ruin the quality that is esential to this competion. meanwhile, i retry.

I know. I got the same ****ty problem. it causes the program to end immeditally. for once i blamed it on lack of RAM. besides, this comp is for fireworks/water jets/and lazers. i'm sure there's no loss for lack of sceanery
