I much prefur the white Xbox360 over the black. Although I saw a costom made one for Brother In Arms that was pretty nice looking.

In other news, how many 360 owners would buy a new 360 with a bigger HD and HDMI outputs? Should they add an HD-DVD drive on it?

I actually really like the white one I already have but black is nice and it wouldn't hurt having an extra 360 in the house. I wouldn't mind picking up a Japanese console either (3 360s, eck..) and do the clear case job on that one.

I enjoy my White Xbox 360 with my faceplate.

Faceplates seem to look better on the white one.

I think this is what we are looking for. Click on this link (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3158183). It surprised me when I found it. It is called the "360 Elite". So we will be getting our hands on this sometime! But these could be fake.

the black one has HDMI...but both Component and VGA allow the same resolutions (1080p)

...HDMI means digital audio...but that's already done via fiber optic.

...120GB is nice for a hard drive...but it's not really worth another $179...especially when mounts have been made to attach IDE hard drives to the machine (meaning that one can get a hard drive of approx. 500GB attached for the same price)

HDMI allows for uncompressed video streams, which means a quicker, crisper image. Yes it also carries the audio signal, which means less wires.

Plus finding a TV that can pull 1080p through component is very rare.

Well, Gamestop will let you trade in your 360 ... even your original Xbox ... for it. I wouldn't mind the HDMI eventually, but ... I don't have an HDTV now and I don't want to go through the trouble of getting extra scratch to get one ... now, if I flip some stuff before then ... nah ... it's good, but I am waiting for the next Elite ... with the built-in HD DVD that plays the current games and the HD DVD games like Halo 3 ... opps ...

Couple of things wrong with your post:

1) Actually, they will let you trade in your Xbox 360 and/or Xbox for money that will go towards the purchase of an Xbox 360 Elite.

2) HD-DVDs are not meant for playing games (though, I guess they could be). But more to the point, the Xbox 360 would NEVER play HD-DVD games for the sole fact that very few people (relative to the entire Xbox 360 consumer population) even have the HD-DVD add-on.

3) Halo 3 will NOT be on HD-DVD. Where did you even get the idea that anybody would even consider publishing it to an HD-DVD?
