View Full Version : Bugs, bugs, bugs - another patch needed

For some of the quests, the green direction arrow doesn't appear at all (I'm not talking about quests that require collecting remains of monsters) - for example the quest with visiting shirnes, and for some quests the X marking the destination appears either nowhere or in the wrong place.
Were there actually any testers who played this game? Judging from the number of bugs I have doubts.
Also, doesn't the company have any people who actually have some knowledge of code optimization? Reqiring so much RAM has absolutely no reason. There are games with much better graphics and they don't have such abstract requirements.

Could you give some specific examples where the quests are not marked? Some specifics would be very helpful for the developers. Could you also post your system specs including gpu?

As I said, in the quest where you need to visit three shirnes, one of them is not marked, so basically the quest is not possible to do, cause you would have to search for that shirne all over the world.
I don't remember all the quests that were unmarked, but there was at least 4 of them in previous missions.

Thanks for the response and inputs. And welcome to the Atari Community forums.
One thing that I have noticed in the the demo, is that for missions, I have had to open the quest menu and select the mission (particularly secondary) for the marker to appear on the map. I am not sure if this is part of the issue you are describing or not. If you have already tried this with no avail, please disregard.
One quest that could use some pointers is the one where you have to collect spider eggs. I’ve spent hours running around in the swamp, but so far I’ve only gotten a single egg.
It would be nice if there was a pointer to an area where a group of them would spawn and where you could collect all five eggs at once.
Because honestly, spending hours running around in a swamp at random isn’t my idea of fun...
And I second the call for code optimization. The amount of RAM used by this game is just insane...

Kind of hard to direct you to the closest area where the creatures spawn when the spawn is completely static.

Which is why the game should, when that quest is active, make sure that five of them are spawned in a special place that is marked on your map. And that each of these spiders actually drop an egg.

Woah, woah, you're asking too much of the developers now.
It's not like they're Blizzard or something.

Thankfully no. Otherwise we'd be waiting forever for this game... :D
But come on, even NCsoft could do it in Guild Wars, so why not Monte Cristo?

I'm slowly losing faith. The more I play this game, the more I see missing.
I just can't believe they're going to release it like this.
It has potential, it's just lacking so much.

Well the demo version was taken from version 1.14. Since then it has had two patches with a fair bit of bug fixes and game tweaks(1.15 & 1.16). The US retail version will probably be 1.15 since the 1.16 patch didn't release but about 5 days ago.
Google translation link for 1.16 notes:

That's interesting. Sounds like they're working out of a lot more bugs.
I also saw a loading bar in the graphics folder. Perhaps that will be used in the retail version.

No offense, OP, but please tell me that you are using more than 512M of RAM. I wouldn't even try to run any DirectX 9 game with less than 1 GB, but that's just me. I have 2GB in all of my systems.

I kind of agree with Aerows. You really should have at least one gigabite of RAM in your system. I'm running DDR2 RAM, 2GB of it and I still run into a bit of lag in High quality settings.
Plus, your processor is old. Is your video card even 128MB?

Well atleast they have no bugs or almost none.
And if there is a bug it isn't gamebreaking and in silverfall it is (atleast in MP Co-op )
