View Full Version : [HLP] - Textures and Groups Question (sketchup)

Alright, I have one question and one problem with my scenery objects that I am creating. (I use Sketchup with Belgabor's ASE export script, in case that helps anyone.)

1) Do I have to index my textures with the RCT3 palette even if I don't want the texture to be relcolorable? Because the textures I have don't look good (only in Sketchup atm) if the texture is indexed into the RCT3 palette. I don't know what to do.

2) My Sketchup model has two groups for two different textures, but the importer only recognizes one group, although a previous exportation worked fine (I made some tiny changes like different textures and a little moving here and there). Anyone know what I can do about this?

Thanks for listening to my issues and I thank anyone who helps me solve this irritating problem.

Hi!

1. You dont need to use the rct3 recolorable palette. You can use any of the supported file types. Indexed or not.

2. I guess you forgot to give the groups a name. Right-click on it and select "Entity Info". You can change the name of the group there. Then it appears under this name in the importer.

About the model; thanks very much. That was exactly what I didn't do. I figured that about the textures because of what it says on Belgabor's page, but I wasn't too sure. Thanks for the help!
