Hello.
As some may know, or you may know by clicking:http://rcdb.com/id139.htm (http://rcdb.com/id139.htm), that Manhattan Express underwent some changes in '06.
First, the name was changed (now its The Roller Coaster at New York, New York).
Second, the Togo trains were taken out and replaced with Premiere trains.
If anyone has experienced the ride with the new changes, I would much appreciate any feedback, good or bad (not about the thread, but the coaster).
Thanks,

G-06

I'd imagine it would improve, but not tons. The ride is still determined by the track, and thats lackluster already.

What are we talking about exactly?

Smoothness? I know people have complained it is rough but I never noticed.

I will be going to Las Vegas though in 2 weeks so I will let you know

Maybe they hand cut and weld it. The tracks I mean. I heard that adds to the roughness.

Though the park officially has named it just "Roller Coaster", it is still referred to widely as Manhattan Express.

Though new trains can improve the ride, it is only by a minor factor.

In Manhattan Express' case, with the new train design the seats of the train are set lower into the body of the train, in turn lowering the center of gravity of the rider hopefully allowing for a smoother ride.

With the old Togo trains which I had the misfortune of experiencing, the riders are set very high in the train, which means that with every twist and turn, your upper body is going to feel it.

Still, the only true way to cure a coaster of roughness is retracking...or in Manhattan Express' case demolishing the coaster and rebuilding a coaster not built by Togo. :P
