Whats going on at KD?

As I pass KD on I-95, I've noticed a fairly large crane among the skyline. It appears to be between Rebel Yell and HyperSonic. Anyone know what they're building or tearing down? At first I thought it might be for the new rides in WaterWorks, but the crane in question is to far away from WW.

Well when i was at KD this past summer I saw a little space by Hypersonic and the swings and the laser tag. I don't think that's what it's for though. It could be Hypersonic being removed because as Maverick said they're selling it. Sorry I saw that KD is planning to run it untill they get a buyer and that hasn't happened yet.

It's for their new slides for the water park. They're getting a Tornado, and some other slide.

Yes, Hypersonic is for sale. However, it is expected to run for some of the season, but maybe not all of it.

i dont think they are tearing down hypersonic but i know they are getting 2 new slides and a new wave pull at waterworks

I believe Hypersonic's situation is similar to Cedar Point's Demon Drop. Demon Drop is also for sale, but the park has said they will continue to operate it until a buyer is found.

I would guess that the reason is similar, as well. It's hard to get replacement parts for Demon Drop, as Intamin stopped making them. Since there are only two coasters like Hypersonic, I wouldn't be surprised if those replacement parts are also hard to come by.

That thing is a capacity nightmare, rough, and a maintense nightmare. Yea...you would like it for the first day or two but then grow tired of it when you find it broken down more than its open. Enjoy the waterpark...this will bring Hershey alot of money for future expansions.

Hershey already has a better launch coaster, its name is Storm Runner.;)

Ya,easy for you to say,you live in ohio and this is not your homepark,and you will not have to put up with wet seats on the coasters and rides in Midway America.I think they should never have done this unless they made it seperate like Dorney did.It seriously annoys me to see people walk from the water rides that are there already,and hop on a coaster dripping wet,making that seat wet for eveyrone.If they they enforce their rule of "No bathing suits permitted past this point" rule,i'll be very happy with it.I think it is an awesome idea and puts hershey back on the map.I am still behind my homepark no matter what.Otherwise,I do not need to be wet while riding Wildcat.

^ hey it seems all you do is go around threads acting obnoxious.i saw what you did to lovetulie's thread.i am still behind my homepark as stated above.we're not talking a little wet spot,by the way,were talking drenched seats on lightning racer,which is right next to roller soaker.you are still right,this isnt the place to complain about things the way i did.

Anyway,isn't Kd getting a waterpark upgrade??
