yes it's true! all the BTTF rides will be shut down and a new ride will be built in it's place, rumors say it's a Simspons ride to follow up their movie! I love the simpsons but to destroy a classic ride and movie such as Back to the future with the simpsons is stupid!!!
I suggest to go to your nearest Universals theme park and ride this for the very last time. you only have until march 30th. and for the people who can't get go. there's a virtual ride expierience right here

Yaaaaaay....I hated the BTTF rides. Awful visuals and painful to ride!

Movie based rides have limited time appeal. Kong finally went, Earthquake and E.T. both NEED to go. BTTF was also past it's prime.
Jaws is a bit different in how the movie imprinted to the "Group consienceness"
And is effective all the time for the terror factor alone. Something primeval draws and repels us all at the same time.

I liked BTTF. It was a pretty good ride, but I guess it does need to go, as I can see how it can get old.

It was interesting about two 2.5 times. It only was interesting after the first to see what you missed the first couple of times.

wow I did'nt know they took out king kong. I thought they might improve it since they just made a new movie by peter jackson. what also kinda sucks is they took out the clock tower in the tour...at least they should have kept it as a remembrance or something.

The Peter Jackson version re-did the original classic. The ride was based on the DeLaurentis one from the 70's which was a waste of film and talent.

I'm glad the Simpsons are coming that's my favorite animated show besides Family Guy.

Minor correction to the topic... only the BTTF ride in Orlando is being changed, not the one in Hollywood. The Hollywood one is supposed to be safe for another year, and then is likely to get changed into something new.
HOWEVER, the face characters of Doc and Marty have been heard to say within the past week, "We're not going anywhere for a long time." This has led to all sorts of speculation as to what they meant... frankly, it's a hint that USF is not done with our favorite time travelling duo. My personal leaning is that US is considering opening a launched coaster, (88 mph, of course,) in the NE corner behind BTTF and east of Men In Black.
There also has been no official announcement as to what will replace BTTF, but the Simpsons is all but confirmed.

Haven't you said that before in a duplicate thread?

Yes, I could have sworn that that had been said before.

I've also heard this. Thing is, it's probably a long refurb, with new film, effects, mechanism, ect.
But if anything replaces it, PLEASE don't let it be Simpsons. I like the show, but it's way too much of a ****ed up idea to be a ride.
What I could go for though, is a Fast and the Furious ride. Now that's some good idea.

For Fast and Furious, go out to Hollywood and take the backlot tour. While it isn't a ride for FnF, they do have a pretty cool display during the tour.
Simpsons is probably a done deal... lots of confirmed rumors on it. However, they could have done a complete snow job on us. But that would have to be a VERY good job. (Multiple rumors from multiple reliable sources backing each other up, etc.)
nick, yea, I've said it before. But I'd rather say it again then have someone dig up a dead thread.

Skip, I actually liked Earthquake. The beginning information tour was neat, and the actual "earthquake" was farily well done for being an old ride. I found it somewhat thrilling.
Completely agreed on E.T., though. Most boring 4 minutes of my life...

Not only is the Simpsons TV show still around, but a Simpsons movie is coming out soon.

^^ You don't want to ride it again because it HURTS like heck. I've been on it once. I wish I could ride it one more time because we had a medical problem the one time I did get to go on it. Hopefully they are upgrading the simulator portion to new technology, which is much smoother.
Yes, the Simpsons is still around and still popular. The movie comes out in August, I think.
Oh, they have made an announcement, then retracted it, that BTTF in Hollywood will be removed by the end of summer.
