Achievment/Rank Advancement?

Hello,

I just got the PS2 version of this game and I'm kinda frustrated. I wanna buy the Shelby GT500 (among other vehicles), but it says I have to get to the "Amateur level" to be able to buy it. Well, I've been doing all sorts of races, taking over car clubs, etc. but i still have no clue how you advance to the next "rank". This is really annoying, considering I have the money and skills and all, why tf can't I get to the next rank so I can buy this stupid car?

I've looked under the "Stats/Achievements" section at Home, but that is of no help. Can somebody tell me how many races I need to win or how many club presidents I need to kick down before I can advance? Geez, Atari, I know this is a free-roaming, play at your own pace game, but a little bit more basic direction would be nice.:mad:

you have to have 100,000 mp (master points) those numbers at the top left of the screen when you are driving...

100,000 = Ameture
250,000 = Pro
500,000 = Expert
1,000,000 = Master

those are the "levels".

Also in the games documentation.....the ummm book thats in the case lol :p (you know the skinny thing with pages and words on em :haha: lol j/k) Page 11 bottom has a description on the point system.

ps: helpful hint....go to all the locations on the map when you FIRST start the game it takes about an hour or 3 (well 3 in my case) and it racks up about 85k+ master points and thats BEFORE you even do a race.

BTW the gt500 is he BEST starting car you can get....so if you got patience and want it before you even race a single race (other than the tutorial one, run rings all over the island in the car you first buy)

The achievements on the 360 rock, but make NO SENSE whatsoever on the PC version ... I way prefer master points over achievements any day ...

Was that your NPC in the blue Skyline?? At one point he side swiped me into telephone pole but I got him the next time!! I had the same exact car, a blue stage 3 Skyline.

i had the same skyline, stage 3, blue, still have it! won a d class reace that gives you 21,000! very easy. by the first penninsula. by a dock. and , skillz, your NPC was very easy to beat! i wish it was a 350z......ahhhhhh.....waht-ev, :cool::up: si ya skillz. yer a favorite TDU forums friend, anddddddddddddddddd, so is cashmoney81, so when i become a master, i know the best race! plus, theres already one called"King of the Hill" by the mclaren/AC dealer or arond ther. 31.sothing miles. bes to use mclaren f1 or f1 LM. about, 96,000 on normal, 193,000 on hard, which i got hit by a ccr, and never finish it on normal.....:cry: :( :down::cry:. oh, i was abouy 26/35 checkpionts in the race when i had to go to bed. SUCKISHLY DUMB!!!!!!!:down: si ya every one! me a boy people, dont think im a girl, other wise you are cyber bullying!!!!!!!!

dude, wen ur a master theres a race thats worth a million dollars and abot 45 min long, i got the best time on that race with 42 min, wen u go to the race u'll see my name under world record, is that clear enough bro :)

Sweet ... glad I was a pushover ... but everyone with a PS2 or a PSP that wants to complete the game has to race me ... so I can let a win here or there slide ... and trust me ... the real guy drives a lot better than his NPC ...

LOL .. yeah, Flashpoint ... that's my baby in the game. You (and other racers) bring me joy everytime I hear how my NPC raced. I am so thankful to be a character in the game ...
