Hello. I'm new to this and just bought the game in stores. It looked pretty good so I decided to try it out but I haven't even gotten to play it yet because of an error. I placed the game in and installed it and everything went fine with that. However, when I try to load the game up an error box appears that says: "Can not place 3D. Game will now close." Frustrated I hit ok to have the SAME thing pop up instantly after it. After hitting ok a black screen pops up and starts loading.

When it does I figured the game was loading and waited. The screen stayed there for a while before disappearing and popping up an error screen and closing it out. So I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem.

Thanks in Advance.

What video card are you running?

I'm currently running a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS,910 GML express chipset family. At least I believe thats what it is. It's never failed me before and I've always used this and it's fully updated so I don't know whats wrong.

The intel graphics chipset is your problem with this game -- sorry.

That's weird. It's always worked for every other game I've ever played. Is there a way to change it or do I have to buy a new one?

Games are using sm3/sm2 shaders more and more, so you will start running into to this issue more frequently with new game releases. Laptop -- right? Your options are very limited. A new laptop would probably be the best/least expensive route.

Here is link on game compatibility: http://bala.wordpress.com/2007/02/06/mobile-intel%C2%AE-915gmgms-910gml-compatible-games/

Then I guess it's time to update huh. Do you have any preferences on Video cards I should get? This is the first time I've ever had to do this.

If it is a laptop you can't just swap it out unless your laptop is made for it. Which there aren't very many that can do that. Which is why desktops are better for gaming than laptops :)
