I have ridden the ride, and since that time have wondered what type of ride it is. What does it actually do to put those forces on you? Is it just some standard ride that has been enclosed?

If anyone could reveal it to me I would appreciate it so much :)

Thanks.

The attraction is a centrifuge which achieves the illusion of speed by spinning and tilting sealed capsules during the four-minute "mission." Fans blow air gently at the riders to help avoid motion sickness, and a magnified display in front of each rider simulates a window to space with high-resolution computer-generated imagery. Mission: SPACE is comprised of four separate centrifuges, each with 10 capsules holding four riders.

It's basically the same effect of those rides at fairs that spin and stick you to the wall.

Exactly, but I do not understand why more people die on Mission Space then on the carnival attraction which does the same effect. Namely Starship 3000.

maybe because the ride is at a disney park where families go a lot, and perhaps one person who may have an existing health defect goes on the ride to not be left out

but really...how many people have died on it, can't be very many

and they have lowered down the speed since the people died so its better now! :)

I'd like to know what you would consider a lot?:weird:

IMO, one is too many, even if it was the general public's fault.

I agree that one is too many, but if the general public ignores the warnings, what can you do?

Exactly. However, I had always believed that Mission:Space was a motion simulator (ie. Star Tours). Anyways, on the subject that more die on Space than Starship 3000, you should know that most deaths on 3000 probably occurwhen the floor's dropped, thus proving more painful (ground fairgoer, anyone...) ... What? I was only throwing in my two cents.

Um... I'm pretty sure only two people have died on the attraction. If six people died, I could gurantee the ride would be shut down.

It has been reported that six have died on the ride.

Yes, I definitely want to see something "official" on this since there has NEVER been a mention of these "tragedies" on the news.. Oh, wait, I forgot, Disney has more concealing power than the C.I.A. How silly of me.....

This article (http://www.space.com/news/ap_060414_missionspace_reopens.html) mentions 2 deaths, both apparently blamed on pre-existing conditions. One was a 49 year old woman who Disney said may have had high blood pressure and, according to another report here (http://themeparks.about.com/b/a/257167.htm), apparently had a stroke. The other was a 4 year old boy with an undiagnosed heart condition.

I cannot find any evidence of more than these 2 deaths on Mission: Space, although both happened within a year of each other.

I'm only aware of two deaths, based on how many I've heard on the news.

Those are the only two ones I am aware of. So there's no proof of six deaths?:D
