View Full Version : Very Disappointed with Product and Lack of Support

I like this game. I really like it. But it's present state of bugginess and the lack of support from Atari is insufferable. I had installation issues with this game, as many people did, and I also had sound issues where I am not able to hear the full spectrum of sounds in the game. I even went so far as to buy a new soundcard with no success. I posted my soundcard issues here in this forum and, unfortunately, was not provided with a solution. Hence, my total investment (in dollars, not time) in this game stands at $80.00. I am not happy that I am not able to enjoy this game. And it is a shame, really, I very much wanted to enjoy this product. But with the lack of support and Developer/Publisher disinterest in fostering any type of modding community I am afraid that it will not do very well at all. Here's to you Atari, for publishing a game without support.

im sorry to hear of your luck. and unfortunately i think atari is the abusive father and the child (the games) are neglected.

i think the the gaming world would be better of with atari dead and another publisher, that cares and puts some time and money into the games, took over for these games i have tried to play and love.

temple of elemental evil was a HUGE debacle.
silverfall soon to be.
all the D&D games are done through atari too, and shame too.
all theyre games ship in paper sleeves and bad manuals.

I agree with you 100% I've also been having problems getting the game going - I've got problems with the graphics. I can't even start the game.

Its sad when a game is released and there's no support. And game companies wonder why people don't support them and then they go under!!

I am only annoyed that we are our own tech support on this forum. I am trying to do what i can here to give basic advice but my computer won't run Silverfall, so i can't do much more than basic Q and A myself, until my new computer is put together at the end of the week. I haven't really had any issues with an Atari game before, but then, I never really bought any either and I am not encouraged by the lack of help, and the way we are not referred to as though we are intelligent people, and are given smartalec answers to our basic tech questions or a redundant "Try The Patch". And some of the questions being asked are not that hard to answer even if the mods here are not "employees".
Either be willing to help or don't claim affiliation with the company. learn to run with the tech dogs or stay in your mom's basement playing Halo.

Atari has had a few mishaps (Axis and Allies come to mind), but they aren't developers only publishers.

I have noticed that the Monte Cristo site says that Silverfall is released, will direct you to the official site, but in the main menu drop down Silverfall is still listed as "in development". I wouldn't be too mad at Atari at this point... perhaps the issue rests squarely on Monte Cristo.

Also given their game titles... Silverfall seems to be the only "winner" inthe bunch. City Life? Fire Department 3? 7 Sins?... pffft.

We are working with Monte Cristo to try and get you guys some answers. I can ony ask that you remain patient while we do so. The forums are not the offcial means of support for any game, we try and help and we hope users who has similar problems can weigh in with solutions too. I hope to have some answers to the biggest issues soon though.

I know you guys are the ones that deal with complaints first hand, but from me, about the only thing I ask is that someone at least be trying and as long as that is going on... I'm okay.

Im mainly wondering why would monte Cristo Put out this game, it seems it had never been tested considering all the problems. The problems i have i had bought a new vid card because i thought i needed a better one than Nvidia Geforce 4200, soo i got a radeon X1650 Pro, I needed a better vid card anyways but i was mainly hoping for my game to include my character models. Ive seen other ppl posting this problem and i under stand these forums arnt best support, but they seem to be the only thing out there and i ask for an answer i dont care if i have to wait a year just to play it, I bought it and i will play it!

It's ridiculous to ask me to be patient. Atari has already SPENT my $40.00 that I paid for this game. And guess what? None of it has gone to supporting this product. That is a deplorable business practice. And unfortunately, it is not the first time that I am experiencing "support" issues with an Atari product. So to this end, Atari, yeah you. This is directed at you Atari, not your Moderators, but the company that is Atari. You suck. I will no longer support you. I will no longer buy your products. And that includes D&D. I have had enough and I am voting with my wallet. I hope you go out of business (again). Until such time as you are under new management.

I remain,

i agree.
its not the developer its the publisher, theyre the cash behind the product therefore if they wanted to make the game RIGHT then all they need do is keep employing monte cristo to keep developing patches and fixes for the game.

this is usually ataris tactic though-

rush release, sell through the first small batch then bail and get out while the splitting is good...

thats that.

were left with garbage as per usual.
and yes, im done with atari too.
anything that has the atari curse upon its box i will now pass up, even if they are 30% of the small dwindling CRPG market. im only going to spend money from now on, with publishers and devs that i KNOW are going to put out a class product.

I bought a Taiwanese version of Silverfall, it is 1.15 version, and I finish the game with few bugs, but I encounter lots of problem when I "patched" with v1.16. BUT, in Taiwan Atari, I am never disappointed with tw atari, because there is no place to let me disappointed to. No Forum, No FAQ, Not a single technical support, Oh, there is a tel support which has shorter time then every company (10:30AM ~ 12:00, 2:00PM ~6:00PM).

Even though I have a lot of RPG games currently, I'm rather new to it all. I started with Morrowind and bought nothing else for several years. Now I'm buying everything I can get my hands on. In your opinion, what are some of the best/most reliable publishers?
