I was hoping that I was able to go to Alton Towers this year for my birthday, but the website has changed recently. On the old website, i could have sworn to reading that anyone over the age of 12 is allowed to the park on their own but now i have found this printed on their new website:

Children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult over 18 at the theme park.

Does this mean that I won't be able to go to Alton towers this year for my 15th birthday? Because I swear that the old Alton Towers website said that "Anyone over the age of 12 is permitted into the Theme Park on their own".

Don't worry, I've been many times without my parents, and have been this year. I don't really think they will bother checking, loads of kids I have seen who don't even look twelve have got in while I was there.

Thanks a lot for this small print, but just to make sure can someone clarify this

Quick, grow a beard!
Lol, that might work, but my luck isn't the greatest and i just want to make sure so that if I get to Alton Towers me and my friends will be allowed in without having to go back home. :(

Quick, Grow a beard!

Fortunately, I have facial hair, even at my age.

Uh oh, I can see this may turn into a thread about facial hair lol. (Just for the record so do I and I look 16 so i should be ok anyway)

I would definitely have thought so. I've never had trouble getting in.

I was at Alton last Wednesday - Friday, I got a Tussauds Annual Pass. It feels so great to see the huge queue of people, then go straight into the park, no queue, in the Annual Pass Holder Entrance. Then right in, Air and Nemesis many times in a row. :)

Anyway, if you follow a family in, then it may look as if you're with them :p It's cheating, but it works. I doubt they'd care anyway.

Thanks for all the advice small print, aroundthehorn and Cyberleader. I just needed to know because I'm one of those people who worry when they see something that may be a bit dishearting, because I have never been to Alton Towers and I really want to go. Unfortunately I won't be able to get a Tussaud's Pass:
1) Because they cost a lot
2) Wouldn't be able to get to a Tussaud's Attraction enough for it to be worth it.

Cheers everyone.

Eh, I've been in all but one of the times whilst I was under 16 and unattended. And the one time was when I was 8. :o

And I'm not yet 15. But I bought an 18 DVD the other day. Sugar Rush.

Anywho, you're paying, you'll get in.

Ha, was diabetes mentioned because of 'Sugar Rush', or was that just the random illness of choice?!

I just looked at the website a few days ago and it has changed from 16 to 10, whether it was a typo or whether i was tired, there is no more need for me to panic. (Yay! :D)
