That could be likely, but if Atari stayed with Dimps don't you think we would've had a Budokai 4 instead of BT1? I don't think 3 is a specific limit to a series, rather it was just time for Atari to switch to Spike. We could get a BT4. Hell, we don't even know of the upcoming PS3 game is even called BT3, it could be a new series. We'll just have to wait and see.

On a side note - I wish there were more developer communication/interaction on this board from Atari or Spike. On other boards, such as Gears of War, the Epic team regularly announces updates, contributes in random off-topic threads, and answers questions and complaints. I don't like this distance between us and them. I would even appreciate a suspenseful teaser thread, anything .. Oh well.

It's going to be hard for any game to be "perfect." Even if they wait 3 years and the game looks incredible, the fans will always want more. Once I'm able to physically charge a kamehameha in my hands via virtual reality (so it looks like I'm actually doing it, feeling it, etc) no video game will be perfect. :haha:

But I think it is best to just let them make the final game and let them spend a lot of time on one single game, instead of dividing the time into two halves. After all they must recreate nearly everything when they make a new version. It is not like they just put everything in from the last game and add new things to it. Therefore I think it would been better if they just took a long time making a complete game (like the fans want) and release it in 2008. Then I am sure we would get an awesome game.

Tenkaichi 2 is a great game i've had it since it first came out and i still get a lot of use out of it. I dont think there is any need to rush the release of the next game. BT2 will do well to fill the void.

SSJ5 I agree with you. I would prefer them to take their time with the next installment. I was simply saying what I think is going to happen instead of what I want to happen, because selling 2 games in 2 years (implying the 2nd of the two will be very good) would most likely be more profitable than selling 1 game in 2 years. Even if the latter option might produce the higher quality game in the end, it doesn't really matter in terms of money because they can just release that caliber game the 3rd year, etc.

They can effectively release only slightly better games each year and lots of people will still buy it.

I agree. blu-ray disc would make a DBZ game incredible. For example, imagine 3X bigger maps. Amazing in my opinion.

It should come out 2009 and be the last DBZ game that offeres downloadable content since that IS when their license deal ends. But come to think of it,thats when their deal ends, and they might just renew it, so they'll be pumping out maybe 3 more games, one for each year until 2009. So dont expect greatness maybe

Even if the next game isn't up to our ideals, they can get close to it overtime by releasing frequent updates such as new characters, new arenas, new sagas, etc if the game is online. If they did that with BT2, the new space level and characters for the Wii would have been downloadable content for the PS2.

I'm sorry but you continue to say that without any proof. Final Fantasy XII is on PS2 but XIII will be on PS3. If sequels had to be on the same system as the first installment FF would still be in the dark ages of video games. Poor logic. A PS3 DBZ game has already been announced, whether it's BT3 or not we're still waiting.

No Xbox or GameCube (even though I love the GameCube) version. GameCube is dead, let's move on to the Wii.
Xbox is facing its' death already, it already died in Japan.
PS2 seems like a good choice considering the fact that the PS2 is still strong this year. Although, I would like it next-gen only, but that's just me. :up:

For that PS3 DBZ game, I think it may be one of those games like Super DBZ.

I understand that it would be great if the next game were to be on all the systems, but then the game will only be as good as it's weakest link. It can't provide amazing next-gen graphics and gameplay if it has to also be compatible with PS2, or Gamecube. I'll take it being on the Wii and PS3, because even if they push the limits of the Wii it'll still be far ahead of BT2 since that neared the limits of PS2. I just don't want older game systems to hold the game back.

But honestly, if they only released it for the PS3 and it was INCREDIBLE, I mean pretty much everything we've been asking for in the Suggestion Thread, graphics, storymode, etc - you still wouldn't buy a PS3? It's not like you're wasting it, you're probably going to end up buying it sooner or later, maybe saving an extra 50-100 bucks if you wait a few more years which isn't THAT much - it's a couple days work.

I hope so. I mean, Tenkaichi 2 is a great game in its own rights. Especially because the gameplay is really addictive and is great, but the repetitiveness of the arenas in the game, the terrible storyline telling in the Adventure Mode, and some other things that I may have forgotten to mention really need to be fixed or improved in Tenkaichi 3 to make me believe that it's a legibly good and improved game, as a predicessor.
