Is this supposed to happen?

When I equip one of my companions with armor their stats actually decrease? Sometimes it shows little red X's on some of their equip spots, and sometimes it doesn't, but these don't seem to make a differance, i equip armor, their armor rating goes down. I equip a better weapon and their damage goes down, what am I doing wrong? Are certain companions only supposed to use certain types of items? Or maybe certain companions aren'ts supposed to wear certain things, like can Morka not wear boots? Or is this a bug?

I think it's a bug. If and only if a specific piece of armour A requires a certain stat that was increased by another piece of armour B, which was removed causing your char to no longer meet the min requirements for armour A, armour A should not display with the red n/a circle graphic.

Happens especially on companions. If they wear all pieces of armour, it looks fine. As soon as I remove even one piece everything shows with the n/a graphic.

I don't really care about the bug, because it is only a display thing, and you can still equip/unequip stuff from your companions correctly.
