Hello to all you SketchUp users...
Have you ever dreamed of making lights or even partical effects, well it has just become very simple. First you need to download the Vertices script for SketchUp, click here to download, (http://forum.sketchup.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=185349&d=1174420530)
Now simply add this .rb script to:
Sketchup6- C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 6\Plugins
Sketchup5- C:\Program Files\@Last Software\SketchUp 5\Plugins
Now you need to open SketchUp(if you had SketchUp open while adding the .rb script you will need to reopen it).
To use this script simply select any line, now go to 'Plugins' then select 'AddVertex', you may notice that the line you selected will automatically have two vetices added to it, one at either end. Now where ever you click on that selected line it will add vertices. You can delete vertices afterwards if you need to, I often delete the automatic end ones as I usually add vertices to the middle of lines. The line of which you first created the vertices does not need to stay. If this line is not needed for your model you can simply delete it and your vertices will remain. If you look at vertix from close up thay appear as a small 'cross' or 'plus'. You do not need to do anything to a vertex, you can simply finish the rest of your model then export as an ASE file. When you add the model in the importer you will notice that the vertices will show up, you will notice that you cannot use any of the texture setting as they are not required. Now if you look to the left you will notice a small frame labeled 'Effect Point', now if you press the button labeled 'A' it will show up the coordinates of the vertices. Now you can click on the coordinates and select edit, from here you can set up all sorts of effects.
If you have never made CS and are interested in making things like I have mentioned above, but you have never modeled, then click the top link in my signature. A new website will open and here you will find tutorials that will teach you how to make CS with Google SketchUp.
I hope this is helpful,
