==========Welcome To Red-Acres. ==========

Hello There. My name is Adam Parkins, and I recently began the start of my new 2007 diary. I needed an interesting place to write about in my first entery, so I decided to go to a local theme park. I managed to persuade my mum and dad to take me to Red-Acres, a brand new park roughly about 2 hours away.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/1-5.jpg

It was a long, boring car journey, but we finally arrived. As we entered the car park I could see a numbe of attractions piercing the skyline. ( More on those later )

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/2-4.jpg

We eventually found a nice parking spot. I’d better write down the section we’re in in case we forget it. D

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/4-2.jpg

As we entered the park gates, my excitement grew. I knew the adventure was truly about to begin…

Thanks for the comments guys!

After we made it through the entrance the crowds really started to gather.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/1-6.jpg

I got a nice shot of the entrance gates, before we moved on.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/2-5.jpg

We turned east at the park mid-section and ended up at the parks accelerator, named "Tophat". It looked like a fantastic ride, but we had to wait a few minutes. It was just completing some test runs.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/4-3.jpg

We waited for the ride attendants to signal, and then we entered the quequeline, our excitement building with every step.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/3-5.jpg

It wouldn't be long before we got on-ride, and after pulling afew strings, dad convinced the ride attendant to let him hold the camera on-ride.

Great update, i really like the third pic down, what youv done with Tophat's station etc looks good :D

I think Top Hats top hat could be more supported. And you should use/get Das Matze's Invisible entrance, which would enable you to use what you have now without the entrance you have now, which would make it look 10 times better IMO.

Great scenery you have there. Where did you get it??

And I agree with RCT3Richie - the 3rd pic looks really great:up: And cool supports to the tophat - well done.

==========
Thankyou very much for the feedback guys, it really has helped.

However i do think Tophat is a terrible name. Does anybody have any other name suggestions? I was thinkin something like "Outlaw"?

Anyway, since the last update, the following changes have been made:

- Added Vegetation
- Added Transfer track to Accelerator
- Added rock arch above accelerator inversion
- Added benching and lighting
- Added small wood planters
- Added toilet building
- Added western-themed flat ride

Now lets look at the pictures.
==========

Well, after the coaster finished its test run, it was time for me to have a ride. And let me tell you, it was incredible.

As the coaster edged into the station, i couldn't control my excitement. I knew in just a few seconds i would be catupulted down the track and into the massive tophat.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/7.jpg

I sat down, and prepared. The coaster sudddenly took off, the netting underneath the track blowing in the shockwave of the wind. We flew up the tophat, and the view was incredible. Everything seemed so small.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/6.jpg

As we plummeted back to the ground, the ride made a sharp left, and we flew into the zero-g inversion, narrowly missing the rocks.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/2-6.jpg

As we edged back into the station, my heart was still pounding. I was definatly going to have another go while we were here.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/1-7.jpg

Next we walked further along the mid-way of this sector of the park. I needed a quick toilet stop after the ride, and luckily there were some facilities nearby.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/3-6.jpg

Next we decided to go on the nearby flat ride, TNT. The ride was very exhilirating for such a small attraction, and it was great fun.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/4-4.jpg

This was a picture i took of the midway.

Wow, thst looks really great.
this i have to say:
-vegetation is ok
-the rocks, over the inversion, looks terrible. Sorry to say but i say my own opinion.
-The flatride is amazing. this theming, oh i just like it^^
-a name for the coaster? hm. maybe adrenalin, but this name is a popular name.

so, all in all, very good, only the rocks arent good.

mfg thrill

PS: plz comment my par, world of thrill germany.

What cs is the planters and all the wooden frames. How did you get the rocks and little hut on the flat ride? Very western. needs more shops but please dont go for the un-original mainstreet option. i kinda sucks now. evrybody does it....

I like what you have done with the Stormrunner Coaster, but i have a question. How fast it the train going when it enters the zero-g roll? I mean, after a 250ft drop or so, it would be rather rough to speed through a barrel roll going that fast!

Still looks good though. Great job!

Nice job on your park so far. I must agree with thrill that I don't like the rocks over the inversion, they just look unreal as they are set now. But everyone has the right to make a park the way they like, so keep on going.

Wouldn't the G -forces be a little extreme on the accelerator? I mean.. you're turning at a speed of probably 80 mph..

==========
Thanks for the comments guys! I'll take your thoughts into consideration.

Also, I'll run a G-force test on Outlaw and see if the track needs a slight edit.
==========

After finishing a few rides on Outlaw, we began to travel to the next area. We passed a nearby shop on the way which sold postcards. Here were some of my favourites:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/1-8.jpg
^ A nice view of the pond outside the western sector

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/2-7.jpg
^ Another shot of the pond

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/7-1.jpg
^ A nice overview of the area

After browsing the shop, we decided to head towards the parks wooden rollercoaster, Splitbark.

It was a great ride, and really worth the wait. However, i did see something peaking through the trees...

Well, on Millennium Force, don't you take turns at 80 or so also? It can be managed, It just looks weird in game.

Anyway, new pics look great! Although I am not too keen on the large orange rock, it stands out too much.

After riding Splitbark, we then continued onwards to the newly developed Atlantis ride. Our first ride in the sector was Neptunes Revenge, a drop tower.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/1-9.jpg

I had seen the ride on a postcard near the entrance of the park. On the postcard was this lovely picture:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/2-8.jpg

After riding the drop tower, i noticed something in the distance. While my family got settled in a nearby restaurant, i ran over to an area which was boarded off by construction fences and signs. I couldn't see a thing, however luckily the park had already taken construction picutres for their website:

Construction continues on the Invert today. Things are really beginning to shape up!

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/Shot0106.jpg
^ The first section of the ride is finished, with the loop in all its glory

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/Shot0107.jpg
^ Construction now begins on the second inversion, a corkscrew. The building team have tried to create as many head and foot choppers as they can.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/Shot0108.jpg
^
The rocks play an important role in creating this unique effect

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/Shot0109.jpg

This will be the last update for at least 2 weeks. I'm on vacation now, so i'm taking a little break. Have no fear though, this park is anything but finished!
==========

It's been 2 months since i last visited the park. Judging by the following pictures from the official website, alot has been happening!

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/1-10.jpg
^ The inverted coaster ( Recently named Reaper ) had begun its final stages of test runs. From videos i have seen the trains fly through the inversions at incredible speeds!

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/2-9.jpg
^ A nice view of Reapers first corkscrew

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/3-9.jpg
^
Reaper flies past its helix sector, narrowly missing the rock formations

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/4-7.jpg
^ A view from the park copter of the rides layout

Incredibly, with the ending of one coaster in site, the park has revealed what possibly may be its last coaster...

The support work was completed, so we ensured the trench was completly drained so scaffolding could be placed for more work on the lift hill

A few questions:

1. G-rated monster, PG-rated monster, PG-13, or R?
2. What is the ride's strong point(s)? (Inversions, speed, etc.)
3. Anything else that's important to the back-story of the ride?

WYVERN
http://www.fataldimensions.org/pics/Wyvern.jpg
The Wyvern looks like a miniature dragon, but it is nothing of the like. This creature grows to the size of an adolescent (teen-aged) dragon, making it appear as one, but there are fundamental differences. It has wings in place of arms, eagle-like talons, a bird-like, curved beak, and a barbed stinger on the tip of its tail.

Thanks for the support guys, although i need some help!

I am completly out of ideas as to what to put in section A and B on this picture. Section B is quite a narrow plot of land, so i don't know if a major coaster would fit.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/help.jpg

Any suggestions guys?

-- Tom --

. Style .
06-10-2007, 09:52 AM
In section A, what about a not-so-high B&M Floorless, like Dæmonen in Tivoli Gardens? I think it would fit in, seing as it shouldn't be too high, so you can't see the other coasters.

In section B, I would go for something with water, maybe a big River Rafting. I would not build a high coaster, seing as it would totally ruin the view of the Hyper you have in the back of the park.

Just my point of viewing, feel free to shoot them down if you want ;d

Tobias13

In section A you can add a kiddie area perhaps??

In section B you can add a water ride maybe??

DarthMaverick
06-10-2007, 10:55 AM
In Section A, maybe you could put in some sort of "landmark" attraction, like how Six Flags parks usually have the carousel-pond duo at the entrance. I agree that you definitely need some sort of water ride(s) in Section B. Keep up the great work, and thanks for the info on the nets!

In sector B i have placed a regular sit down coaster. It seemed silly to have an acceleator, inverts, and a hyper, and not to have a regular sit down.

The parks about 96% complete now, and i plan to produce a video for every coaster

Make the sitdown a floorless with 8 trains for realism. Get ride of the trees to the right of Tukis splash and replace it with water.. so it can be a realistic splashdown.

I also would've liked to seen some buildings... more like a shopping district instead of a kiddie area.

..And damn.. you build fast.

WOAH this is Great!!!

However, with the exception of the kiddie area, it seems you have only got coasters in the park? What happened to food courts, thrill rides, gentle rides etc? I dont suppose everyone is gunna go on the water ride then coaster hope then leave?

BUTTTT...... i LOVE the theming you have done, really nicely laid out!

Keep it up!

Outlaw Video Complete

What usually would be a quick process has been anything but filming this video. The sandbox is flooded with scenery and rides, so simple tasks like shooting a scene in the video can sometimes take 20 minutes a time. Nevertheless, it's done. The ride is very short, hence the length of the video. But there are still some nice shots in there and a P.O.V

Enjoy. 1 Down, about 7 more to go :D

Oops! Took me a while to get back!
I'm glad you liked "Wyvern" as a name for the Vekoma SLC! I added the picture to serve as a logo of sorts (heh heh:rolleyes:not the best, but what the hey!). The park has undergone some development, and everything looks bigger, better and brighter! I'm pleased with the new attractions, and I hope that making and posting this park is as much fun for you as it is for me to see it!

I await your next great addition (or park)! For now, AWESOME WORK, 00 tom 00!

Opening Day Diary - Park 1 of 2

It's been months since my last visit to Red-Acres, and boy has it changed. My parents took me to the park on opening day, and it was very busy. The new additions to the park had bought nearly 3000 visitors to the park gates. Nevertheless, i knew it was going to be a great day

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/ParkMap.jpg
^ At the gate i was handed a park map.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/1-14.jpg
^ Among the new additions to the park was this flat ride named Insanity. I was a little worried at first because i didn't know what to expect. Sure enough however, it was incredible and i went on it 3 times. The best thing about the ride was the fact that it was surrounded by water and trees, making the experience even more thrilling.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/2-13.jpg
^ This was my onride photo of Outlaw. I'm the boy wearing black shoes in the back of the train. Hi!

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/3-13.jpg
^ The midway began to fill up very fast with guests

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/tom--morgan/4-11.jpg
^ This made me laugh. This lady was all on her own on the ride. Nobody else wanted to go on!

I LOVE this park! It is very realistic and I can't wait to....ummm...download it... ;) *cough* *cough*

Anyways, I was wondering if there are any restaurants in the park? I don't remember seeing any, and people will get very hungry if they don't have their Pizza Huts and McDonalds if you know what I mean. :)

Edit: I see a cafe! :D

kylr23 - I see where you're coming from, but for obvious reasons i can't really change it now. It's already released

Sno - download coming soon :D although, be warned, the park has turned into the ultimate lag-fest!

CoasterJoe - Meh, i can't be bodged to change the map :) As long as the parks hynky-dory, i'm not going to worry too much about things like that. But if it worries you that much, i can launch a formal complaint :D

Brock - They are in Acenna's Accents pack!

Thankyou all for your kind words. I'm still wondering weather to release all the videos before the download or the download before the videos

If you're one of those people that would prefer less lag and would rather just ride the attractions, you probbably wont need all that scenery.

No matter what you do though, there will be lag. I ended up adjusting my computer settings to low so it would run smoothly. Also, i suggest removing all the water from ponds and rivers.

Anyway, that's it from me on this project. My thanks go to everybody who commented in the thread. It's been awesome making the park and i hope you'll all be there for my next project!
