Hi!

Here a little hint for you:
If you want to create signs with 3D fonts, there is an easy way to do it. Its a simple trick which is used by frontier too (for example the wheels of a coaster).

I wanted to do a sign for my park:

But its really highpoly. And if I would fill it, it would be even more. Without the fill there are

5064 polys. Way too much!!!

So here's the trick. Thats my sign:

Its made of 11 faces very close placed. Each with the same alpha-texture:

And you can see: It have a tiny bit less polys than the thing above:

Just 22.

Hope I could help.

I'm just learning in an attempt to make my own CS, so I'm really grateful for tips like these since lag is something that really can restrict this game, so anyway around it is great! Thanks for sharing!

Oh, that's the Alpha-Sandwich-Trick, that Vodhin mentioned in another Thread. Thanks for that great Idea. A little question about the textures. Are the textures on any layer the same or do you have usethe colour text just on the front texture and black text on the others?

Its the same. But you can use different textures too. Do you have a link of Vodhins explantation thread? I've never seen it.
