how do you make scenery

You're not really asking me that question, aren't you?

I build the part in a 3D modeler, make the texture in a another program, i use the importer to put everything together and inport the cs into RCT3 - and voilá ....

I'm sorry but I can't answer that question to Your satisfection in this thread.
There are alot of tutorials, etc, on how to make CS.

first I apologize to -eezee- for posting in his thread against a demand and second i was not critizing you, its just I don't know about anyone else but it took me a month just to get familiar with a 3d modeling program and the importer. It takes time to get textures to align and get a good feel from importer settings, and then along come icons that can be a pain unless you have done it several times and good at alignment of little pictures. -eezee- Has proven himself a very artistic cs maker, and if not misstaken has left the forums before for reasons similar. (not 100% sure though). my apologies again.

I always impressed, how did you make so perfect alpha-textures. I didn't see any disturbing pixel in that fences. That's your professional background.

Sorry, but I think you didn't get the point. It's not that I don't want to give you something but that I want give Mac users something extra - that's way different. I have my reasons for doing that, as you may know I'm a Mac user myself. What you may not know, is that we Mac user are allways discriminated by the software developers. That means that we got "Soaked!" more than a year later than Windows users. And we're still waiting for "Wild" it's not even announced for a Mac release. I'm still waiting for a german release of "Heroes of Might and Magic V" - for Windows "HoMM V" already got two (2) AddOns. Speaking of AddOns, most of the AddOns made by the RCT3 community are exe-files - completely useless for Mac users. I could go on and on ...

I hope you can understand my behaviour now better. I had in mind to make the Hearse Mac-exclusive and changend my mind. At least there are only some path covers now - nothing You can't build with other available sets (for example DasMatze's Covers & More).

And never forget I don't have to give you anything. If I release something you should be gratefull. I had spend weeks and months of my private time just to create this stuff - nobody paid me for that. I can do with it whatever I like - release it only for Mac - or not release it all.

Anyway, I agree with you, that the green Awnings looked a lot better. I was thinking about making them recolorable, but I didn't get the right RCT3 color to achieve the red and green that I like. Maybe I can figure it out until the release.

Thats just a question of the sales volume. And if a windows user creates an AddOn or something like that and wants to make it easy for the user (which means an executable file) he has no way to create this for Apple. No one wants to discriminate Apple users. But if you decide to be in a minority, you have to live with the fact that it's not really profitable for some companies to sell their programms for the Mac. And I just ask me, whether there isn't an emulation programm for Mac OS giving the Apple users the possibility to execute exe-files?

And for CSO I never liked the exe-Files. Not just because they can't be used by non-windows-users, but also beacuse you can't see their content directly.

I agree completely eeZee, mac users are not getting fair treatment with most programs, i am starting to understand being a vista user, nothing works any more!
Also on the red/green awnings, if you have to pick one color rather than it being recolorable, please go with the green, in my mind green is more 'Haunted Mansion' than red. I am glad you didnt keep the hearse for the 'mac club', i would have been taking up residence in the mansion if you had!
And just for you, because you arent getting bored with it, i love the hearse, it will be a great addition to Haunted Hollow in ATCP. And the path covers are really nice, even if i dont get to use them, they are still great! Thank you for sharing.

Actually in all fairness, someone could decide to make CS excluisively for Mac users, and we'd be out all together!

Some things are exclusives to different sites for time periods too, so it's not unusual. Besides, perhaps if we let eeZee know that we appreciate his work, sometime in the future he might be nice enough to include similar path covers for those using Windows? Who knows?

Considering what he is kind enough to share with us I most certainly am not going to mind his offering our long-suffering Mac friends a little bonus. I think we all agree that we appreciate his sharing such great work.

Thanks for the suggestion.No one said Windows is better than Mac OS - but as 90% use it, it's not really efficient to programm everything for every other OS. There could be versions for hundreds of different UNIX-like OS, but you don't do this. The few people using it will feel as if they are treated unfair, but that's not really true. And by the way: I said I'm against installers for single CS, but if you have a big package or files have to be edited, it's very difficult without. Something like this can only be done if you have team-members with different OS than Windows - but most teams don't have them. If the Mac users engage more, there will be more AddOns and such things for Mac OS.

Perhaps you missed the part where Mac users don't get the same opportunities as a Windows user. They have to wait longer for the RCT3 games you've had for years, and they can't download some of the same things you can as one with Windows. After all -eeZee- has done for you all, you drag him down to your stoop by filling up his thread with "OMG NOT FAIR"s and "THIS AINT COOL"s.

You know what, YOU'RE not cool, and YOU'RE not fair. Cut him some flippin' slack, for Pete's sake! He doesn't even HAVE to release the set at all! Be lucky you're even getting SOMETHING!

I'm apologize -eeZee-, for dragging this further. This is incredible set, and I can't wait for Halloween!

Like I sad in the other topic I am a mac user but I don't have RCT3 for mac. I have spent over 100$ on a very buggy game, and I am not spending any more on the series to just get lees.

eezee while I fully agree with mac needing more attention by developers, and being a better OS the windows, when you get Leaped just set up boot camp I have been using the bata version of it to play RCT3 and do 3D work and it works fine.

Of course I'm gonna get Leopard this friday. But to run Windows on a Mac is already possible - got an Intel iMac. Anyhow, I'm already using Windows to use the Importer as there is no Mac version available (... again ...) But I'm also sure, that I'm not gonna run Windows to play or to work. I didn't buyed a Mac to run Windows ...

Mac Users can't use all that billboard stuff and nobody of the custom scenery makers take care of this fact. It would be a simple thing to add some basic signs to all that billboard-sets for the Mac-Users.

I think, it's more than fair, that eeZee make now a little extra for the Mac-users and don't take care for al the window users. Maybe this lesson will let us all think about Macusers, when we create more Billboard-sets.

Doesn't make sense to renounce something that can be made because a few users can't use it. I have no problems if a Mac user finds out something and makes a prog to use this only for Mac. Thank you for including the structures, too. The complete HM, with the walkways, hearse, tombs, lights, ralings, etc, is truly a work of art. The textures are gorgeous, the lighting is perfect, the recreation...spot on, perfect. I love the glowing windows, too.

This is the most polished custom scenery set, I think, that has ever been produced. I hope you have more projects in the works, although I can't see how you could top this. But I sure bet you can. ;)

Anyway, the Haunted Mansion Path Covers are now released for Windows. You can get them, together with all my other sets, from my home page (see my signature). I know it's a little bit soon for christmas presents - but at least (here in germany) You could buy all the X-Mas sweets since september ;)

Stages 1 - 3 are not at all hard - it's just that when hovering the mouse cursor over the "Download" wording, it does NOT change into a hand signifying a clickable link. For that matter the link above "Atari Community Forum Thread" shows the same. The Zuruck and Weiter links both work correctly.

I'm having the same problem as Quince99. The "Download" link isn't active(nor is the Forum Thread link) . It's just underlined text. The Back and Next links work, as do the links to Home and Scenery at the top.

I get this same error box, but it lets me continue without any problems if I just click the check box. It's that dreaded no svi error box that I get with some sets (not all).
