Adding a CS object in water!!

I imported one of my CS objects I designed with sketchup and tried to place it in water but the game crashed!! I was wondering what would cause this and how I could fix it so that I can add it in water, because it is a barge and a barge on land doesn't fit too well!!

Check your polygon count, the game should not crash just because you added it to water. Sometimes if you have a poly count over 1000 and you try to place it in the game the game crashes. As eert said does it work on land? if it does not work at all try making the model in a few sections, that way you are not overloading the game to much.
