Setting up a 98se box to take over all my retro games I still like playing. Game in question is Imperium Galactica
System:
Win98 SE
128 RAM
P3 550mhz
Built in sound, Crystal SoundFusion CS4280 (latest driver I can find)
Built in video, Matrox MGA-G200 (latest driver I can find)
DX7 (ran all DX test)
At first I could not even install (Runtime error 200 at 02F4:0091.) But I copied it from an old POS laptop that I want to get rid of. And then installed patch. Now I go strait to the main menu and I get no father, ether it black screens forever or comes back to the same screen.
When running install from HD, can not get it to play sound. (other dos games do) (BLASTER=A220 I5 D3 T4 variable set in dos)
Also most of the other dos/win95 games work fine.
I tried doing some searches, but so far nothing other than the patch or using dosbox.
Any help would be welcome! This is one of the awesome games I go back to play almost yearly. I also may look for a PCI voodoo or some other 3d card.(to help w/ other games performance)
