I am using Sketchup. I was going to make a set but I am not sure about this:

Can I put multiple things in Sketchup? Like I was doing some trees, but I only have one full tile. Do I need to get more? And if I can't do more trees all in one sketchup thing, does that mean I have to make one tree, import it, then do the same thing over and over again?

First question: Yes! Just go to File--> Import then select your .SKP model

sorry dont understand the others...

You can make objects out of several different pieces. You can import as many trees as you want, and put them into one set.

But don't you need more blocks then? Because on the tutorials it says to always start off with selecting a full tile block.. or is that only for walls and cubes?

Actually, you don't even need the block. I only use it for positioning objects, then delete it. As for your first question, I'm not sure you can make more than one item, but in order to have an object of more than one texture, you have to have separate groups.

^^^^^^^^ Seperate groups? As in making a small part of the object , and then make a new file and model the other part of the object? and then import them both into rct3 , where you can place them together?

That is how I have been doing it , is there an easier way?

Who exactly are you talking to?

If it was me, I was referring to more complex models that have more than one texture, and how they have to (obviously) be grouped by texture.

Thats what I meant. whiLe imporTing The complex model it appears as one group , how am I supposed to apply the diffrent textures to it , if it is only one big model?

With my catwalk set, I used two different textures, which you can't really tell *yet*. But when making an object which you have made, and you want more than one texture on it, you need to group it as such. And it is recognized in the Importer that way.

If I am wrong, then I have been doing it all wrong.:haha:

But it works for me.

you just highlight objects/faces with the same texture then right click and select make group. Do this for all your different textures. Then when you are exporting as an ase file make sure you are exporting all the groups at once and they will appear in seperate groups in the importer but once they are imported in to RCT3 they will be placed as one object.
