Its almost done. There are all animatronics which makes sense to use as a ride event. The default ride events are also included - without collision of course. The big demon is not included - the particles makes problems. Ans now I have to search the ovl for the vampire and the low res textures of the dinosaurs. And I have to make Icons. Then its done.

Date of being a member has nothing to do with anything. Belgabor has been here since July (+/- a month) and has practically made the importer from Jonwil's one.

So how exactly have you done this? Is this done using the current version of the importer? Please explain. :D

It looks awesome so far, this will come in VERY useful. I have a small request, but you may have already done it - can you make the gargoyle animatronic a ride event too? I've used them quite a bit in my dark ride and I've had to time it as the train passes, but it would be far easier if they were ride events.

I take it that you're just setting the Ride Event bit in the flags rather than recreating the entire ovl?

I think the problem with the demon is that ride events use a default set of bone positions when they are in their "holding" phase. It's been so long since I looked that I can't remember if it's BonePosition1 or BonePosition2. On the demon that position is set up differently from the position at the end of the animation, theoretically you could substitute the BonePositions at the end of the animation sequence into the default BonePosition so that it holds in the end position. If you're already parsing the ovl structure to set the Ride Event bit, then parsing for the matricies and performing a substitution shouldn't be too hard.

I will certainly be annoyed if somebody else released a similar set,
you have worked hard on this one so it wouldn't be right for somebody
else to release a set.

There arent any animatronics from soaked and you have to copy the needed files of wild. ;)

Writing a small application to copy the ovl's, set the Ride Event bit, etc... would be a better solution because it patches the files already on peoples machines.

Think it through before you get yourself into trouble and don't let the pestering kids force you into releasing something before you're sure that it's right to do so.

i thought he said he was going to make the thing that makes them ride events but we would have to copy the actually animatronics over our selvs?

But he's not really redistibuting them...well, he is distributing modified versions that still need the orginal.

Good points everyone. I see no problem as long as he isn't making the Soaked and Wild objects availabe for download. I mean as long as he's just moving stuff around that we must already have or it won't work right...then that kind of code manipulation really is no different than any other custom scenery, is it? That was kinda confusing...sorry... :noob:

yeah but you don't need the expansions to use custom scenery...and if he's using objects from the expansions...then you'd be getting stuff from the expansions without paying for them...

Second: You need the expansions to use the objects

Third: This objects are made for the same game as the originals.

First: DasMatze gives full credit to Frontier, he never said in one word, that he made the objects, he just modifiy them for a another function in the game.

And at last: Maybe you have noticed that I have added some hedges with Frontiers textures, The_Cook creates some expansions with Frontiers textures etc.. It's up to Frontier to make the expansions by themself. But currently the show no interest to update anything for RCT3.

Not really. Even people that take the time to install it, could still make a mistake. I'm sure you didn't know exactly what to do the first few times you had installed CS.

^ That was certainly not meant as an insult to your work, Matze. It´s just that people have such a fast-food mentality that they don´t understand things that differ from the way they are used to. And people don´t read!

When the particle effects were released with a HUGE reminder that you have to install them differently, 80% of the people just ignored it and spammed the boards that the set doesn´t work for them.

So we can expect that this will happen in a much bigger way with your excellent new set.

Anyway, your work is just fantastic and is a joy to play with! I hardly use any of the in-game stuff anymore. You people have really really made the game so much more fun to play with.

Now if only the basic game was better and more fun...

My park is on hold - I havent any ideas to time. So the set will be released earlier. But as I said somebody is testing it and he have some problems with the shark attack. I dont know whats the problem.

When he did the big Demon the particle effects worked fine, its just the motion of the demon that was obscured. So maybe they do work maybe they don't

DasMatze - Are you recreating Jaws the Movie? Because in the Progress of the actual Movie, the crew had problems with the Shark. I find the set will take a while as the Movie did-beacause of the Shark.

Not exactly. I didnt import it because it make no sense. The hanging shark moves a bit thats all. Would you ever use it as a ride event? I dont think so.

I think they mean the shark that is hanging, it wobbles around but occassionally it bites, that WOULD be useful as a ride event

I had the pleasure and honor to test this set and all I can sayis *** it is awesome!!!*** Just simply awesome!! It will bring a whole new meaning for ride attractions. This also might save on the lag time as well. Everything is not moving til prompted. So there would be less movement in the picture. DasMatze you are awesome!! Thank you so much!! There are so much errors now and I think there will be a huge amount of people which will have trouble with the installation. Im confused about some errors too. So I think I wont release it or I will do everything again. But first I'm waiting for the answer of StrRngr4.0. He want try to create a batch file for the installation.

I think that the strange errors you get are due to the fact that ovl names (or rather SVD names, which in CS/Importer created style ovls are the same) need to be unique. In fact I wonder that this works at all as as far as I remember Frontiers SVD names do not necessarily match the OVL name :p

You now that the "bat" in *.bat stands for batch, the windows shell. An *.exe is an binary program. That's why you need to compile an *.exe and an *.bat is a list of commands, which are interpreted by the shell.

Do you mean, there is now a folder called "SharedTextures" and one called "SharedTextures2" or something. If yes, it wont work. Ok, they are only for the LOD-Textures (water-reflections) of the dinosaurs and the other animals of Wild so it would work but something would be missing.

No...you need to combine the contents of the Jungle and Prehistoric Shared Textures folders into the main Shared Textures folder. I tested that and it seems to work.

Hey Dasmatze, amazing stuff you have going on(instant jungle, wood, anim)

I wanted to let you know that Giant Mantis, and Giant Mantis 45, aren't working for me. I get this error:

no : svd for : sid

I double checked to make sure the files were copied correctly, and they are.

All the other animatronics are working! This is awesome! Hope you'll do more for the wild west stuff!

I don't know if it's too late or not, but I think a good thing that you could add to this set is ride-event lights. So when the car goes past, the lights light up. I think it would be very helpful for darkrides.

Is the folder in Style\Theme? If not, then it was installed incorrectly. Do a search to find it on your computer and then try installing it again. I highly recommend unzipping the download to your desktop, and then moving the correct folder into Style\Themed.

Funny, it's spelled correctly on my computer.

The Giant Crab has never crashed while I helped test the set, and what textures are you refering to? There's only one small texture problem that I was aware of and few would even notice it. Did you double-check to make sure you copied and moved everything completely, because not doing so will cause texture errors.

It can be very confusing, I forgot to move a texture file the first time I set everything up, so I know how easy it is to happen. But the set will work and works really well, just takes a lot of patience and double-checking everything.

On the shared textures: first copy and move the entire shared textures folder from Style\Themed\Jungle. Then copy just the CONTENTS of Style\Themed\Prehistoric and add them to the shared textures folder you copied from \Jungle...and the end you should have two files from each theme...one common and one unique.

I'm not sure what's up with the Giant Crab. I'm using the original beta and it's titled correctly in it, unless DasMatze altered that file afterwards for some reason...

Edit: I just downloaded the final release and checked the GiantCrab.unique file and the OVL is named correctly...is it the the in-game description that's mis-spelled? I don't think that will make any difference.

I have only 118 files. Do you copy the WaterTowerTextures.common.ovl and WaterTowerTextures.unique.ovl in it? Thats an often made mistake. They should be at Style\Themed\DasMatze_Animatronics\ without the "1". ;)

The ride events should not appear twice, at least they don't for me, nor do any of the particle effects. Did you perhaps click on multiple items when you went to copy rather than one at a time? Sometimes that can cause copys to be made in that folder.

DasMatse, this is one of the greatest and most useful sets I've ever downloaded. Well worth the effort of installation. Took 2 people and 2 monitors one to read the readme and the other to move the files, but I did it right the first time, opened up the folder in-game and no CTD. Excellent job. Absolutely superb!

For all of you that keep getting "No svd: for sid" this is how you solve it:

Follow the instructions and go try it. If it dosent work for an object,

Go to the folder "DasMatze_Animatronics. Then to the "1" Folder. Find the file the crashed your game in there and it should look like this:

Good Ex. of Mummy:

Mummy.unique.ovl
MummyTexture.common.ovl
MummyTexture.Uniqe.ovl

Dazmatze suggested that I post my rather unique problem with the set here as well:

I got the set to work fine, I got no crashes or error messages, but it slowed my game to a veritable crawl after a few loads. I didn't think it was this set, but when I decided to test it and I removed it, my game instantly began to perform properly again (back to high framerate). Have others mentioned this kind of issue?

I'm really at a loss because everything appears to be in the right place, I followed the Installation PDF, and the set actually worked perfectly in-game (despite the noticeable framerate drop). Does anyone have any suggestions? I have everything in the Animatronics folder saved and the set can easily be placed back into the Style/Themed folder again. Thanks in advance.

Actually as part of testing the set I used one long track and placed ALL of the events along it. I didn't experiance any slowdown at all, however I also had nothing else besides a blank bench there. Hopefully if anyone else experiances slaowdowns they'll post. About how many events did you place before it seems to slow down Grindalyx?

No. To make the particle events work you need to create .ovl files from scratch containing bone animations with the relevant particle effects.

I'm thinking that's what caused it, although I don't know for sure. I know too many partical effects can cause similar problems, so maybe you passed the games limit...

wagi, I think I'm going to try setting many of the stock ride events to one track piece and I'll see if that also causes it. I've never had that problem with particles, though, and I place many around (I have a massive massive park with a ton of stock animatronics as well as custom ones complete with NF particles adorning several key attractions). I hope I can eventually get the Animatronics as Ride Events set to work with my park properly, as I love it.
