I really hope that there is a "hands off" mode in Godzilla: Unleashed. I think it would be fun to set up an AI vs. AI tournament. This is a good way to see how the monsters really match up against one another and it's really fun to see and try to predict who's going to win. It's good for 2 on 2 matches as well.

I use to set up AI vs. AI tournaments in G:STE. The only way I could do it was to: Select melee mode- free for all; choose Megalon as player one; use the player one has infinant energy cheat code; burrow with Megalon right as the fight begins and stay underground for the whole fight; choose the two monsters I want to see fight as computer players one and two (second and third slot).

This doesn't seem like a difficult feature to immplemant -as many fighting or sports games have it.

I'd really like to request the inclusion of this feature in Godzilla: Unleashed. I really think that many players would enjoy it. Thanks

I would love a simulation mode. With the choice of 1on1 2on2 or 3on1. It would be great to pick some monsters, a city, grab some popcorn and watch them battle it out.You could recreate scenes from the movies or fantasy match ups. It might also help finding new moves and different techniques to beat different monsters with. Maybe even a snapshot mode where you could take pictures of the battles and save them on the Wii. I never tried the Megalon trick, Marshall. I'll have to try that sometime...good tip.

I would also enjoy the ability to have AI-controlled kaiju battles in G:U. I was disappointed you couldn't do it in G:STE, as sometimes I'd just like to be able to switch the game to Hard Mode and watch the monsters tear into each other, especially when re-enacting fights from the movies (like Godzlla & Jet Jaguar vs. Megalon & Gigan).

Hey Marshall, I totally agree! Here is a small portion of what I posted in January of 2006.

I would have 4 player choices for all game modes: (1) Player vs Comp, (2) Player vs Player(online), (3) Player vs Player (in house), and (4) Comp vs Comp.

If you want to see all of my ideas, just click on the little blue arrow next to where it says "Originally Posted by KG Kaiju". This will bring you to the exact post that I am quoting from. If you go down to post #19, you will see the rest of my ideas. :D

I know this is off-topic and I didn't want to bring up an thread that is 2-3 months old.

Could there be a move where you can launch kick your opponent some distance when there on the ground(thinking of some kind of move to prevent the unblockable rising moves)like how Titanosaurus(I sure other monsters did this as well, just can't remember) kicked Godzilla and was sent flying far away. 4-legged monster like Anguirus and Baragon can use their horn(doing edge damage as well)to lift and toss monsters before they get hit by the rising attack. And monsters like Mothra Imago can do a diving attack, and Mothra Larva maybe could use a lunging bite.

Do you think that G:U will have an AI vs. AI (hands-off) mode? What's the best way that we can try to let the designers of G:U know that this feature would be important to us? Thanks in advance

Well, posting your idea in this forum is the best way to let the developers know what you want in the game. Since Mr. Strange visits here, I am sure that your thread has been seen, though he is not at liberty to say whether this feature is going to be available or not. It is obvious that Atari and Pipeworks want to keep the information as a surprise.

I do hope that Ai match-ups will be possible. That option would be enough to purchase the game IMHO (as long as the kaiju roster was beefed up as well).

Agreed. It has always been a feature that was missing from this FIGHTING game. It is entertaining when one wants to take a break and eat a snack or talk on the phone but still enjoy the action from a safe distance. Most important is to be able to watch the computer use monsters that one might not be familiar using, and see what moves and combos can be observed in an objective manner. This is not always possible to do when the player is in a panic in the heat of battle. It is also difficult to get human players to use the monsters you want them to, and create cool interesting match ups. So why not let the machine do all the work and risk the loss while we laugh and learn? This way we can set the level to HARD. When we fight we mess up and the AI steals all the power ups! But with AI vs. AI it is a fair fight.

Imagine watching these battles - just like a never before seen movie:
All three mechagodzilla's against each other in a three way for the title of Ultimate Mecha Godzilla champion!
Biollante vs. Hedorah to prove the best use of poison power.
Battra Adult vs. Mothra adult vs. Megaguiras !
Titanosaurus vs. King Ceasar to decide which was better brawler in 1974 - 1975.
Monster X vs ...Kaiser Ghidorah!
The tag teams of Space Godzilla and Mecha King Ghidorah vs. Zilla and Magmouth. ( Yes we want to see the boss boys own the weakies!)

I could go on like this for years and that is what I would do, just watching - learning - and laughing at the sheer joy of making them do their dance of destruction. While I sit on my butt with a bag of chips and can of soda pop!
This is like my fanboy fantasy I can almost taste it now!

Especially if all 3 MechaGodzillas are fighting for top lizard bot.

Excellent choices with regard to the match-ups, Monster Master!  Pipeworks should definitely consider this option as it would add another dimension to the game. Looking at those match-ups, how could Pipeworks turn this down! C'mon Pipeworks and Atari, let's have AI vs AI!

It would also show some more strategies on facing a difficult opponent.

I believe that StE actually shipped with a code that puts two random AI monsters into battle. We used this to do rough testing of monsters, to look for balance changes and inequalities.

Unfortunately, the AI is pretty limited and doesn't provide the most robust showing of each monster's potential. The AI is great about maximizing the damage ration of melee combat, but not so great at other things, such as throwing buildings, deciding when to use energy, and so forth.

Even though the AI has limitations, I'd really like to have the AI vs. AI (hands-off) option for a tournament in G:U. I would try to set up fights from the movies during the tournament rounds.

Admittedly, the demo matches in G:STE are way to short. Monster Master stated it best when he spoke of "Kaiju Theater". This is the feel that an AI vs AI mode should have.:cool:

Yes so we could pick the monster opponents, the arena, day or night time playing field, and add our own custom soundtracks ! We also could decide the number of rounds per match, and length of time they last. 3 min - 5 min - 10 min, etc.
Many movie fans might design their own favorite scenarios, and this feature alone would make this game worth purchasing for it's entertainment value.

If we are lucky and new monsters are included such as Biollante, Hedorah, King Ceasar, Titanosaurus, Monster X, MechaGodzilla 1975, plus the STE cast returns, then the possible dream team battles would make for endless possibilities...

MM, I thought that herk from tohokingdom forums already said that we could choose the soundtrack during battles.(or at least questioned about the idea.)

I just read Mr. Stange's first developement diary. I think that an AI vs. AI (hands-off) option is more appealing than ever thanks to the new and more complicated open-ended story feature of G:U. Mr. Strange said that this story mode could take up to three hours to play. That's like a Godzilla double feature with a different plot and outcome everytime you watch it! Of course I'll like to play as a character; but having a spectator option would be a dream come true.

Lets all just set up some killer bracket matches!
Round 1

1. Orga Vs Kiryu
2. Spacegodzilla Vs Biollante(Go SG!)
3. Battra Vs Megaguirus
4. Destroyah Vs Jet Jaguar

Round 2

5. Winner Of Match 1 Vs Winner Of Match 2
6. Winner Of Match 3 Vs Winner Of Match 4

Championship

7. Winner Of Match 5 Vs Winner Of Match 6

8. Winner Of Match 7. Faces All Participants In An Eight On One Supermatch!

If Winner Of Match Eight is Winner of Match 7. it is the champion!
If not, the whole tournament is restarted with the monsters still wore down from combat!
