I unfortunatley didn't get to go today because I still need to get a season pass. :(
Well for the people who did go today, how was it?
I'm guessing it wasn't packed.

Ok.. review of my day:
8:45am.. Arrive
9:00am.. Get in.. go to Magnum
10:00am.. First Train of the year for Magnum, ride it twice
Then the rest of my day pans out like this...
Corkscrew x2
Skyhawk x2
Millennium Force (2 1/2 hour wait... WOW.. that was horrid)
Eat
Space Spiral
Top Thrill Dragster (2 1/2 hour wait.. AGAIN.. I waited 1 1/2 hours for the front seat.. intervals were horrid with breakdowns a lot)
Gemini
Iron Dragon
Blue Streak (offically the roughest ride at CP.. MY GOD)
Wicked Twister
Not a bad day.. but it was REALLY cold, and it was REALLY crowded for EVERYTHING past 2pm. I walked onto Magnum, Skyhawk, and Corkscrew.. but everything else past that had atleast a half an hour wait... besides Space Spiral.
I'm going again on Monday, so i'll be waiting for those walk-ons all day tomorrow.
Also.. sorry I couldn't meet up with you guys. I was in line for TTD at the time, and I was 4 trains away in the front. I couldn't leave that, you all know how I feel. :)
All in all... 8/10 day. Could have been better if Mavvy was open.

Wow usually CP is never crowded on opening day...
And you didn't ride Meanstreak!? And what is Space Spiral?

The wait was way to long for MS. I know what rides deserve what waits, and anything outside the station on MS isn't worth it IMO. Plus, I have all year to ride it.. why I didn't care much about the day.
Space Spiral is the big white observation tower thingy up front?? :)

It was awful. At least you didn't go for TTD for the ERT. We waited until well after 10, and we never moved once in the line, so our entire time getting there early was wasted standing in line for that piece of crap. Then we were overcharged for breakfast at Donut Time, waste another 45 minutes there getting it sorted out. The only coaster we made it on all day was Corkscrew, but hit about every flat ride that was open.
Was it busy? The bus lot was full. Half the main parking lot (which was completely full) was buses. The marina lot was full (of buses). So every group in the Great Lakes area was there that day, as evidenced by the 45 minute wait minimum for every coaster in the park.

[Summary towards the bottom]
We arrived around 9:30 and got into the park about 9:45. We were held back just after the main gates because of ERT.
Just before 10, they let us go. My party and I sprinted to Millennium Force, knowing that you can never rely on TTD (proved to be a good call). We waited about 15 minutes for Millennium Force.
After Millennium Force, we walked over to Mantis for another 15 minute wait. *Noticing the TTD trains not making it over the hill*
After Mantis we decided to head to the back of the park and hit Skyhawk. That was around a 10-15 minute wait.
After that we grabbed some cheeseburgers and fries (it was about $40 for all 4 of us to eat).
We took a leisurely stroll by Maverick, looking so dormant, and decided to hit Mean Streak. Well, turns out that a safety issue caused Mean Streak to cut it's own power and the people had to be walked down the lift hill. It didn't open again untill a few hours later.
After not being able to get on Mean Streak, we headed to Gemini. That was around a half hour wait. (The blue train stopped running for 15 minutes due to, what was assumed, someone throwing up).
After Gemini we went down to MaXair and WT, WT was closed, but opened just as we walked by... so we got on it in about 10 minutes (otherwise there was a 45 minute wait) and decided to MaXair it up later. We got some of our beloved Dippin Dots and went on Blue Streak. The back is a lot of fun on Blue Streak and I think it's a severely underrated coaster. The wait for Blue Streak was HALF AN HOUR...
I looked over at Raptor's approaching 2 hour wait, and we decided to skip out.
On our way to Magnum, we noticed a huge crowd leave TTD, and so we went in there. It was about a 45 minute wait for us. After TTD we went back to Mean Streak... still closed. So we walked around a bit, finally making it on Magnum (half hour wait) and Corkscrew (15 minute wait). *I sat in the Maverick test seat!* [It's not comfortable at all!]
Then we went back to Mean Streak to wait half an hour to get on that.
And then we hit MaXair on our way out. A guest had pooped themselves on MaXair which turned our half hour wait into an almost 2 hour wait, because the ride operators took so dang long to clean it up.
Then we left a little after 9.
Summary:
Things were OK untill about 2 pm, after all the bands had finished performing and were wandering about.
The lines for MF and TTD averaged between 1.5 and 2 hours.
Maverick was, of course, closed.
WT was around 45 minutes all day
Mantis & Raptor both had 1.5 hour waits later in the day.
Corkscrew reached a 45 minute wait at its peak
Magnum had over an hour wait at one point, got less as the day went on.
Mean Streak was closed a good portion of the day, but had a half hour wait after it opened.
Skyhawk had a ONE HOUR wait towards the end of the day
MaXair had a half hour wait
Blue Streak had a half hour wait
The mustard tastes terrible, DON'T GET MUSTARD @ CP!
The weather was spectacular (burnt my face a little). It got a little breezy at times.
The park was quite crowded.
There it is, my opening day at CP.

Then why did you have shorts on!
My legs weren't cold.
Also.. I feel that wait pain. I couldn't find a line anywhere that was short. Here are my waits for the day:
Magnum: Walk-On x2
Skyhawk: Walk-On x2
Millennium: 2 1/2 hour
TTD: 2 1/2 hour
Corkscrew: Walk-On x2
Wicked Twister: 15-20 minutes
Blue Streak: 15-20 minutes
Space Spiral: 5 minutes
Iron Dragon: 10 minutes
Gemini: 15-20 minutes
Raptor had ATLEAST an hour all day, or atleast everytime I checked. Mantis was never below half an hour everytime I was near.
I guess I got lucky for portions of the day.

It wasn't bad at all in the morning, but it got pretty bad between noon and 2 and never really let up.

My son, Elijah, and I started out the season with 2 laps on Millennium Force. While waiting for our second ride, I spotted Harpo and his wife in the line, so I introduced myself.
Things were getting busy fast. This opening day turned out to be much busier than last year's. We headed to the back and after scoring a quick ride on Skyhawk, things got a little ugly. Cedar Creek Mine Ride was closed. We killed some time to 11AM so we could ride Mean Streak, then it broke down while we were in line. We walked away dejected, but the worst was yet to come. I looked at the marquee above my favorite food joint and saw "Chuck Wagon Baked Pizza." It seems the pizza from the deceased Frontier Inn made its way to Chuck Wagon, while the former Chuck Wagon menu is gone.
Woodstock Express(and Raptor I later discovered) has video cameras that now capture your entire(or so they say) ride. Interesting concept. Since some annoying 6-year-old invited himself to sit next to me on the ride, I had no interest in the DVD.
Fast Forward to 5PM, we sat at the Magnum entrance waiting to see who would show up. We were pleased to see the Harpos, and minutes later, rollerfreak83. We waited until 5:12, expecting SnooSnoo to show, then got in line. It was a 30 minute wait for Maggie, and the 5 of us managed to get in the same car. Then we headed over to Paddlewheel, for the lagoon tour and cheesy jokes. I'd just like to say it was a pleasure meeting the three of you, and being able to talk shop for an hour with fellow amusement park enthusiasts... I hope to see all of you again. And SnooSnoo, waiting for the front seat on TTD is a righteous cause. Hopefully we'll see you next time. :)
Following the recommendation of the Harpos, we ate dinner a few hours later at Chick Fil A. The food was fresh, tasty, and greasy, which is I suppose the best you can hope for from a fast food joint. I had a chicken salad, Elijah had a chicken sandwich and we shared the waffle fries. I think this an improvement over the Frontier Inn, even though it seems to be the Chuck Wagon that was replaced. Yeah, I'm still crying about that. :|
I don't remember what we did the rest of the day, since we were also there on Sunday and Monday, and it's all a blur as I write this. I need to get some sleep...

As mentioned, Saturday was quite busy for an opening day -- great from a stockholder's point of view, unfortunate from a rider's point of view!
Saturday and Sunday were a bit chilly and very windy, but tolerable. Monday was quite a bit nicer. Over the three days, I went on every ride I wanted to go on (with the exception of Maverick), so it was definitely a successful trip. Besides the kiddy rides, the only rides I skipped were the two antique car rides, the Turnpike cars, and the Dodgem cars. I rode everything else. My wife won't do spin-n-go-puke or swinging rides, so she played some games or rested while I did those. (There are also some coasters she won't ride, and she didn't feel like changing into a swimsuit on Monday for Thunder Canyon and Snake River Falls.) I was disappointed yesterday as I planned on taking one final spin on Raptor prior to heading home. But, it broke down. On the rides my wife and I did manage to get on Raptor, the blasted video thing never worked on our seats! Drat! Oh well. Maybe next time!
I did think Cedar Point was being quite mean on Monday. They were running trains on Maverick. That's just cruel and unusual punishment! They didn't have any riders, but seeing the ride move just made me want to go on it even more! It sounds remarkably smooth, and looks like it'll be a lot of fun.
It was great to meet the others on Saturday -- sorry you weren't there, SnooSnoo, but, if I were about to get on TTD, I don't think I'd have left the line, either!
Naturally, there were "bugs" to be worked out on the rides. Very typical for an opening weekend, but they generally seemed to be getting resolved quickly. At Johnny Rockets, the food was good, but that crew really needs to get into synch. They were quite a bit slower than usual, and their dance moves were needing a bit of work. They'll improve. Meanwhile, Game Day Grille's crew was doing a great job. We barely had time to blink before our food was served, and it was very tasty. We ate at Chick-Fil-A twice, finding it to be very good. We also ate one night at the all-you-can-eat pizza buffet at Mama Chetta's at the Hotel Breakers. The pizza was good, but a bit spicier than I like it, so I didn't eat as much as I generally would at an all-you-can-eat restaurant. (I'm a bit sensitive to spices. I have acid reflux issues, and spicy foods tend to make the problem much worse.)
I can't help but wonder if the "Tyler" listed as the high-scorer on the bowling game at the main arcade is the same Tyler of "Tony and Tyler," the CP bloggers. If so, I toppled his high score on Sunday. He had 210, I had 246. Woo hoo! I also clobbered my wife in all but one game. She claims she let me win, but it's really not easy to let someone win by about 160 pins! :D The miniature golf was closer. I only beat her by 2 strokes at Challenge Golf. Perhaps I should have let her win, since today is her birthday. But, since we started out the golf with her saying, "I'm going to kick your butt," I figured I couldn't make it easy on her!
Well, I'd better get back to work -- I've got a day off to make up for!

No it's not Tyler of the blog. I was watching that guy bowl on Saturday and saw him bowl that 210. This Tyler was a big guy, probably about 6'2" and 250, while the Tyler on the blog can represent the Lollipop Guild if you get my meaning.
