DO NOT download or install the BETA PATCH for ArmA: Combat Operations if you downloaded the game from Atari.com/us. This is not an officially supported patch and will most likely break your game if you got a downloaded version.

The fact that this patch is a beta and not supported is clearly stated on the BIS Developer Forums, in threads in this forum, and in the Readme of the patch.

The final patch, when released, will be posted on atarisupport.com and on atari.com/arma and will work with both the download and retail versions of the game correctly. Until then please DO NOT install the beta patches or if you do you do so at your own risk.

Info about the final patch will be posted here once it is out...

I am posting this sticky to make it even more clear for everyone just to avoid any mishaps...

Regards,
Matt

In case users wanted more info they can check the official Forums for a release log on the patch: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=72;t=62481

It also the following:

IMPORTANT: THIS IS BETA RELEASE AND IT'S POSSIBLE IT WILL NOT INSTALL WITH YOUR VERSION CORRECTLY OR THAT IT WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY. FOR USERS OF DIGITAL ONLINE DOWNLOAD IT MAY ALSO USE ADDITIONAL ACTIVATION AND MAKE EVEN THE ORIGINAL GAME UNPLAYABLE.

We're releasing this patch primarily to gather as much feedback as possible from users of ArmA worldwide and make the 1.07 final release as good as possible.

If you did perchance happen to install the beta patch by accident and missed the warnings, happens to the best of us, please call DR or email DR support and they will have to issue you a new activation. I also recommend that you do a clean reinstall (uninstall and install) the game before you use the new activation key so that way you can be sure that you are running the correct clean version of the game.

Matt

The 1.07.5154 patch was fine, the trouble started when installing the 1.07.5157 patch. Thanks for the warning but a day too late- is there going to be any fixes or any way to bypass this.

The fact is, 1.07 runs a lot better especially with SLi configuration and enabling the FLUSH command improves game-play greatly.

I am regretting using the digital download at the moment.

As I said the final patch will work correctly. This was a beta and its purpose was to indentify any issues that might arise before we do a mass wide release of the final patch. The beta was an at your own risk patch and I can gurantee that when the final patch comes, and its coming soon, that it will work correctly and that you will not experience any download issues.

Matt
