You would of thought it would be on the ps3, but i guess they just wouldn't make a profit on the sales. i can live with a ps2 version though, it's cel shading so it doesn't have to be graphically amazing to look good. Get a Wii then. I have a Wii and it's way more fun...... Also SSJ5Vegeta_Ver3 has to repeat this a million times: BT2 took 8/12 potential for PS2 so BT3 won't be good for PS2. BT2 took 2/12 potential for Wii so it would be good for Wii and PS3.

That scan says 2007 on it.... Don't tell me the game will come out in 2007... If it does, then it will suck....

True. It looks like a full power energy wave and as far as I know piccolo has had the same move set he has since b3 and he never had a full power energy wave.

No problem, i too am quite happy with this and can't wait to see it in action and see what new gameplay features it will have. Think about it they had the characters pretty much perfect in bt2, now being on the ps2 they can focus more on the gameplay side of things.

Having extra characters is nice and all, and I'm glad it's on the two systems that people can easily afford (or already own), but we need translations of what the rest of this thing says...

Just like Budokai 3 was an enormous improvement over Budokai 2 (and especially over Budokai 1), I'm really expecting a lot from this game... You guys do realize Atari doesnt make these games right? They just publish em...so they cant dictate what systems they release on, only when and where they publish them. On that note, if anything it should've been a Wii exclusive in all seriousness. IMO it should've been a game made for the Wii from the ground up to fully take advantage of its motion sensing capabilites, and perhaps push the system graphically alot more than the last one.

And for the love of all things that are Akira Toriyama, I hope Atari finally is able toLicense the original japanese music from the show that both the japanese and european versions of the DBZ fighting games ALWAYS has!

I am really not sure if I am going to buy this game. I am just so pissed off right now. The graphics look the same, it is for PS2 and Wii, it comes out already in 2007.. Those are all fatal mistakes that will prevent them from developing a great game:down: How can they actually miss out the entire majority of DBZ fans' wishes? This scan has killed all my hopes for an ultimate DBZ game:( Usually I do not say such things, but yeah. I do believe that I, and many else here could have developed a lot better game than this on our own :o

But this is all from the single scan we got, so I might change my opinion once we get some more information. It is just that when they put it for PS2, says there is going to be 150 characters and also reveals it to release in 2007, then it appears to me as if they haven't really read anything of what the fans have said:downcast: Identical set ups for every character, a few new characters, the same story mode with no cutscenes etc.

I sure hope that this is just a bad expansion pack for Tenkaichi 2, or else I am afraid it will turn out horrible:(

Who says they haven't listened. Even Ciel the Atari Admin says they viewed the thread for BT3 suggestions weekly.

I was here during BT1 and I saw what everyone wanted for BT2, from in-game transformations to Pikkon to a Red 10x Kamehameha and they were all put in.

Now due to the endless King Vegeta requests for BT3, a character that's sole appearance (outside a cameo or two in the movies) is being upper-cutted to death by Frieza in a flashback, is in. They listen, they just have to strike while the iron is hot and get a new one out every year, which means the bigger changes can't happen in that timespan.

3vs3 doesn't seem probable on a PS2 but 2vs2 does. I think the graphics are already good enough for a cartoon like game. The only thing, IMO, they have to focus is gameplay.
And they also have to get rid of the generic 2 B2 and 1 UB per character.

They'll eventually change the game throughout development, just like BT2, so they'll change it dramatically. B1-B3 used the same gameplay, but added different mechanics of the game. BT1 & BT2 were similar, but they greatly improved BT2 with more combos, new HUD, new story mode, passwords, more characters, etc.

I'm sure that this game will definitely improve over the next few months. They started developing BT3 in the summer of last year.

Don't worry. I am not angry anymore. I have instead started to see positive at it. The graphics might not be the best, but I think that there are some quite nice features displayed in the two new scans. I was just a bit disappointed when they said it was going to be for the PS2 ;) Even though it might be nice at PS2, it would been a lot better at PS3 :) Oh well, I like the new arenas. They do actually seem pretty big, and more important, massive!

The game looks fine for a PS2 game. We can't judge and jump to conclusions yet without seeing the game in action. From the scans we saw, the difference between BT1 and BT2 could be confused as well, and you know how much more in depth BT2 was over BT1. They both looked the same in clips besides specific techniques and attacks. So this next game could have lots more extras.

I actually figured they were going to go this route. Release a game on the yearly schedule, same as always to generate more profits, all while simaltaneously working on a next-gen PS3 game. It gives them more time to work on the PS3 game while we are held over by this BT3. The PS3 came will most likely be the beginning of a new series of DBZ games.

If they only used 8/12th's of the PS2 for BT2, they better be at 12/12th's for BT3. :D

PS3 is:

1: Too expansive for most people that is why the PS2 will still run for 2 years
2: Atari can NEVER get games imported into PS3 (at the time) it costs a lot of time and Money
3: they will end the Tenkaichi series at the PS2 and will continue a new trilogy of DBZ games on the PS3

you guys probably should keep in mind that this is the second release on Wii and perhaps there might be some goodies this time around too!!! Wii is so popular and successful, you never know what is planned for that version of the game.

Plus that the PS2 is getting a version shows that lots of DBZ gamers will possibly get some nice features as well. I don't think we should downplay anything yet. Its just getting out there that this game is on its way. So we have voiced things we wanted to see...perhaps some of those things are in this release. PS2 does have some awesome abilities that is not always seen.

Well let him have several types of blasts mostly rather than punches and kicks. Let him be a easy teleporter and more magician like. That would add variety to the game. Plus maybe let him use a staff like weapon.

They still probably won't listen to a number of our ideas, for example, these new characters will probably only have full power energy waves and explosive waves.

They seriously need to chuck those stupid generic moves out if they still have set abilities like the last two. Otherwise they'll all have the same attacks...again. And don't even get me started on rushes.

Those are all fatal mistakes that will prevent them from developing a great game:down: How can they

I seriously was let down by this Announcement. Most of our Ideas were probably rushed & not looked

I hate the rushes too. They are so repetitive, and everyone uses them like 20 times in one fight. They should make every character have set a 5 different rushes and when you do a rush it should randomly choose which one of the 5 the player does.

Ah, you dummies, there are going to be TWO King Colds in the game.

1) King Cold
2) King Cold that grabbed Trunks' sword for five seconds and became an expert swordmaster.

So far, the "new" characters must have taken a lot of work out of Spike.

1) King Vegeta is basically the Vegeta model with a beard (that must have been tough)
2) King Cold is 2nd stage Freeza's model with rinkles and a cape (tough as hfil)
3) Nail ... well ... it's Piccolo with white pants.

Spike is working its ass off. Hey, here some new characters we're bound to see:

1) Goku (with space clothes when meeting F. Trunks for the first time)
2) Vegeta (with GT haircut and clothes)
3) whine ***** moan

Anyway, Spike, I'm not saying we shouldn't see King Vegeta or Cold. Far from it. I'm just saying that when you say you have 30 new characters and 10 of them are simply old models with some slight visual tweeks, that means you either went lazy or you have some major gameplay / story changes that will rock our world. Sure hope it's the latter.

i was on other forms and i saw this

Characters Introduced this month are: King Cold, King Vegeta, and Nail.

- Over 150 characters will be in this game. They say they will include a lot more popular characters this time.

Here are the new additions they are adding to game play.

- We get a bunch of new stages, also, there are now Day time stages and Night time stages.

- They do state that the characters models are better and so are the animations during Blast moves.

- "The key to a Oozaru transformation is the Moon!?" The "Transformation D" has improved since they are adding something called the "Transformation Gimmick" which applied to certain characters and their transformation.

That may be true Cain Marko 6, but that doesn't mean we can't SPECULATE now, do we? :D

Anyways, history has proven that sequels for the same machine rarely have differences in gameplay (Budokai 1 and 2, Butoden 2 and 3), and I'm not talking about story modes and such, I'm referring to the gameplay mechanics.

Sure Budokai 3 made the teleport maneuver (and the Dragon Rush) and that WAS a notable change, but still the game's combo system and move-about system was nearly identical to that of Budokai 2. I remember that by the time I started playing Budokai 3 I was already half-bored with it. It was one of the same.

That's the reason I haven't bought any of the Tenkaichis. I'll buy the last (and probably) best one in the series.

EDIT: The character models are "better"? I take it they mean the animation; SSJ Vegeta looks exactly the same from behind...

Just because you have no cash to buy a PS3 doesn't mean that anyone else who DID bought it and wants a DBZ game for it is a crybaby. And if you're content by playing the same game over and over again with simply more characters and some minor (read: almost undetectable) gameplay tweeks that doesn't mean that everyone else is "a disgrace to DBZ". Not everyone is a hot groupie that bows to whatever Japan takes out of its ass you know ...



Ah, you dummies, there are going to be TWO King Colds in the game.

1) King Cold
2) King Cold that grabbed Trunks' sword for five seconds and became an expert swordmaster.

So far, the "new" characters must have taken a lot of work out of Spike.

1) King Vegeta is basically the Vegeta model with a beard (that must have been tough)
2) King Cold is 2nd stage Freeza's model with rinkles and a cape (tough as hfil)
3) Nail ... well ... it's Piccolo with white pants.

Spike is working its ass off. Hey, here some new characters we're bound to see:

1) Goku (with space clothes when meeting F. Trunks for the first time)
2) Vegeta (with GT haircut and clothes)
3) whine ***** moan

Anyway, Spike, I'm not saying we shouldn't see King Vegeta or Cold. Far from it. I'm just saying that when you say you have 30 new characters and 10 of them are simply old models with some slight visual tweeks, that means you either went lazy or you have some major gameplay / story changes that will rock our world. Sure hope it's the latter.

I'm merely getting warmed up. Truth be told, I don't really care about this game, it's been years since I was intoxicated from DBZ (I used to call myself its number #1 fan). Yet ... I must say that I would like to own the legendary "perfect" DBZ game ... just hope I'll live long enough to see it. It's either going to be on the PS3 or the PS4.

Either way, since Tenkaichi 3 is for the (cough ptui) PS2, it won't be perfect. Good? Sure. The best so far? Probably. But he perfect one? Nope. No sir. No dice. Not as long as the graphics look like that, and every character is played in the exact same way (more or less).

Oh, and for Pete's Sake, certainly NOT with soundtrack like the last one.

As for rushes, they need to go. And have character's special combos that are not finishing moves, but just combos that are triggered at close range and use up some blast 1.

Like Tien's Volleyball fist that was in B1 and 2, and I wondered why the hell he had that, then by the time I saw him use it in Dragonball, his move had disappeared from the games.

Tenkaichi 2 had 129 "characters", but it only had about half the amount actual characters (transformations not included). So I guess we will see like 10-20 new characters in Tenkaichi 3, and that is all we get. There might me more characters that is just remodeled from other characters (Vegeta = King Vegeta) and so on, just so that they can brag about having more characters than ever. To be honest, I think Dimps made a far better job on DBZ games.

But I need more information in order to fully analyze this game. It might be as it is now, a crappy low budget game with just a few minor updates, or it might actually be in the very early stages, and being a great DBZ game at the same level as Budokai 3. We will just have to wait:heart:

That is true. I think there will be 20-25 new characters and forms and now when Nail, King Cold and King Vegeta has been confirmed we will see only 17-22 new characters and forms.

If they have his classic "What's a Goku?" ultra-camp line recording then I might stop using the original Japanese cast :P

yes buy Super Dragon Ball Z, but also remember, there could be surprises for BT3. We have to wait to see what's in store. ;) They know for sure that people would want something worthwhile as they read these forums. This is the official game forum and there is valuable feedback here.

Here we go again... the lack of new characters could mean an update to the game play or new features, such as 4 player or online. It's a little too early to judge the game, so everyone be patient. :up:

It would be cool if you press buttons when you do the fusion dance and if you get a button wrong then you turn into Fat Gotenks/Veku or Skinny Gotenks/Gogeta depending on the wrong button you pressed and you have a fusion timer when you turn into the wrong one. For the Wii, you can do actions instead of buttons. :D
